For anybody not familiar with Tampa Bay these models show either a catastrophic flood event or a negative surge event. A negative surge Essentially what happens when a storm system lands south of Tampa it actually drains the water from Tampa Bay. So much so that you can actually find photos of people walking out in the middle of it. If it lands directly or just north this surge poos up and has nowhere to go. I have lived in the area off and on for the past 35 years. I have never seen it flood like it did with Helene. lot of people here are scared. The hotels that we usually evac to are booked up. And off I honestly haven't finished cleaning up on his first go around. It's probably going to take a year or so to get back to normal after this season. image

This one has a potential to make a huge mess for Tampa Bay. Everybody still has all their debris out on the curb. image

I'm sure that's not going to escalate things at all.... <Antiwar. Com> Has always been My go-to resource for conflict related facts. What's funny is I once tried to turn my sister on to it And she said it sounds like a conspiracy theory website. You can't make that up. Anyway The breaking news tab in the top of the web page there's always a good place to check for the latest stuff they won't show you on CNN or Fox. image

I'm not sure if supporting the labor conditions in China is right either but this is bananas. I was a fabrication manager at a shop that made DOT handrail for sidewalks along highways. The amount of paperwork involved in each bolt was complete nonsense. For a company to be in compliance they need to staff someone full-time to track the paperwork. Table That's one job. Although it's one job in the office instead of a job in the shop actually producing stuff. Adding red tape to something as benign as a handrail will not make us competitive. That should be obvious.

Daily Reflections for October 5 Yesterday’s Baggage For the wise have always known that no one can make much of his life until self-searching becomes a regular habit, until he is able to admit and accept what he finds, and until he patiently and persistently tries to correct what is wrong. --Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, p. 88 I have more than enough to handle today, without dragging along yesterday’s baggage too. I must balance today’s books, if I am to have a chance tomorrow. So I ask myself if I have erred and how I can avoid repeating that particular behavior. Did I hurt anyone, did I help anyone, and why? Some of today is bound to spill over into tomorrow, but most of it need not if I make an honest daily inventory. --From the book Daily Reflections. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. —2 Corinthians 10:5
