Man, I love doing math. I’m making solution guides to every calculus assignment this year and it’s reminding me of how much I love it. I sometimes wish I had pursued it beyond my bachelors, but I’m not sure if I had the mathematical chops to cut it. Probably could’ve made through a masters program. But I doubt much beyond that. I actually looked into it a few years after I started teaching but there was no way to make it work while also maintaining a full time job. #math #grownostr #teaching

This is a stubborn misconception about learning that many teachers fully embrace. I’ve certainly been guilty of it over the course of my career. Early on I would’ve thought that discovery learning was ideal but it was just too time consuming to be practical. #education #teaching

Government, economists, etc.: Inflation is good for the economy. Me: Well I hate paying more for stuff year over year and sometimes month over month so maybe just STFU and stop telling me I will pay more and be happy – for “the economy”.

Man, I might get the flu shot next year. Or the year after (does the immunity from this year carry on into next year possibly? 🤔). I haven't gotten one the last few years. Not really out of any prinicpled decision. Just kind of like "do I really need that thing" and "how honest were you guys really about the covid shot" and I never went to the doctor in the fall where they would be like "hey do you want this thing?" But my wife and I have the flu right now and we are 5-6 days of being varying degrees of miserable. Fevers, chills, aches, congestion, and now coughs. Each day waking up thinking it will turn and it's still there. Finally today we don't have fevers, which is an improvement. But all the other stuff is still strong. Ugh. Would the flu shot have helped this year? I don't know. It would've been cool if one of us had gotten it and the other hadn't so we could compare. But that's not really an experiment to set out to run. Anyway. I'm gonna take some Sudafed and try to write some lesson plans before my son wakes up. Have a great weekend friends. And don't come in contact with me. lol

Morning, everyone. Had a good weekend. Took my son tot he gym to play basketball on Saturday, got some chores done around the house, and our rec volleyball team remains undefeated after yesterday. We played two of the best teams in the league yesterday and won both hard fought matches. But, my daughter is sick and I’m staying home with her today. Hope you all have a great Monday!
