I think there's a distinct possibility that DJT has his plane fueled and ready at all times to head for Dubai or another non-extradition country.

As things continue to spiral downwards in the US, they are going to move to implement the CBDC. Once that happens, you will have no life raft left. Want to leave the country? You'll have no cash in your pocket. Even our ancestors were able to move around the world with whatever wealth they could secure away. Escaping a totalitarian regime with nothing but the clothes on your back will no longer be just a cliche.

I stand by my belief that the USG will not outlaw BTC but will only allow it to be used as an investment vehicle like gold. Too many wealthy people see the value in it and game theory says the US cannot ban it while other governments do not. They will try to pen it in and demand that nobody use it as an alternative to the "digital dollar" GG talked about today. It will ultimately fail.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have severely damaged the dam at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant. It's basically gone. Bigger than the Hoover Dam.

Prediction: All of the scammers will flee from Big Crypto/NFTs/Ordinals/etc to hop on the AI train. BTC lives on stronger than ever.

Our ability to do any sort of planning has been completely destroyed and with it, some good part of our productivity. My wife and I are both professionals with multiple degrees. We worked hard throughout our careers to create a strong foundation for our family. What has happened in the last 3 years has left us unable to create 5 much less 10 year plans. Rather, I spend my days thinking about how we might get out of the country if/when things start going sideways. Putting your most productive citizens in this kind of position leads to a collapse in confidence and, ultimately, a collapse of a civilization.

Anyone do an analysis of the BTC held by the US that they could dump into the market and the net impact of that dump on price if done all at the same time vs piecemeal?

Anyone else dream of leaving the USA every day?

I love nostr and the performance has gotten so much better but it feels like this place is empty. No interesting non-Zap conversations, no engagement. It's like a ghost town.

Confession, I went to high school with an executive at one of the banks that just failed. We had to take an economics class in high school and were talking about the national debt. My classmate said, "why don't we just print enough money to pay back the whole debt?"

Listening to Cason on #[0]. Makes a critical point about the panopticon that is very hard for most people to wrap their heads around. Once the cage door is shut, it will be very very hard to ever open again.

The RESTRICT Act will be used to try to shut down BTC transactions in the US. Prepare accordingly.

Killing Signature to try to cut the legs out from crypto is worse than what Trudeau did in Canada. They literally just took down a bank for no reason other than because it banked crypto companies. Most won't see it, but a critical few now know what we are facing.

Theory: This is all an op to sweep in a CBDC. Convince me I am wrong.

Frank admits they killed Signature because it was a crypt-affiliated bank. “I think part of what happened was that regulators wanted to send a very strong anti-crypto message,” said board member and former congressman Barney Frank. How's everybody enjoying a country without laws?
