Hey friends. For the past year, everyone has worked for free and completely self-funded #archipelago development.
You will be getting an Alpha shortly but it's time to get real:
To release a successful beta, we need to coordinate more and increase the numbers involved on this project. Most of this will come in for form of incentivized bounties, creating a hardware compatibility database, paying existing developers, and adding some more resources to the project as well as purchasing hardware to test like the new AMD Halo and more Framework desktops. (Or you simply buy one and help us test).
I'll be talking about this more once the Alpha is out, but please consider helping out. Archipelago will always be free but how you implement and integrate into your local communities will be something you can get paid for. Create the next IT Service companies around sovereign tech. Find local funding for resiliency initiatives. Get a stall at your local farmers market and talk about big tech overreach and owning your own data while selling graphene phones and openwrt routers. Survey your area for lora repeaters and join up with local ham radio groups.
We are, right now, taking the first steps into the world we want our grandchildren to grow up in:
