Reading in Genesis this evening. Specifically Genesis 34. The story of Dinah, Simeon and Levi. An interesting read for anyone that hasn't read it. The popular reading of this story is that Dinah was raped, though the text does not explicitly state. In fact, it states: 2 ...[Shechem] saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her. 3 And his soul clave unto Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the damsel... I think the idea of rape comes from the word defilement, but there is no indication of force. Nonetheless, Simeon and Levi take revenge by negotiating a marriage with terms of circumcision. Three days after and when the men were "sore", Levi and Simeon descended upon them and slaughtered every male. They then took the cattle, women and children as spoils of war. I'm curious what the opinions are of this story. I would imagine that few would consider Simeon and Levi's response as measured or just but I find no real consequences either. This seems out of character in any context of the scriptures and yet, there's a part of me that can sympathize with their wrath. It's also interesting that with all Jacob has seen God do, he is fearful of the opinions of men. Another item of note is that this is one of the few chapters that God is not spoken of once. Perhaps the lack of God at this point is representative of a departure from faith which invites excess and fear? Super interested to hear what others make of this story. I keep seeing posts on how free speech is a threat to democracy... Can we just all just agree on the deciphered code on this one and understand yhat "democracy" = "communism" when spoken by the media or Democrats? I thought this much would be clear by now. When they say "Our Democracy" they might as well be saying "La Costra Nostra". It certainly does not mean free speech, informed electorate, democratic process, rule of law, equality, or any of the things we would normally attach to the word.

The lies are ridiculous in most election seasons and maybe it's that I'm older and can see through them more than I used to, but wow. How is it the media switched the candidate without a primary, to literally the only candidate liked even less than Hillary Clinton? No one noticed this complete lack of democratic process? She was worse than the village idiot at the start of the year, and now she's going to solve all of the problems? We have a "Progress" vs. "convicted felon" race but both sides were a complete fabrication. Trump's cases are so manipulated that Grant Cardone halted all operations in the state of NY. The reason being, that Trump's actions are standard practice for any real estate developer in the state and everyone knows it. There was no crime, and Kamala is certainly not progress. Bidenomics was working but Kamala is going to fix the economy? Best president for job growth but after revisions, we have lower total number of employed people than at this same time in 2021? Our current administration was coordinating with Brazil's known corrupt Marxist leader to discuss Venezuela's elections while simultaneously arresting a green beret that was helping to coordinate the people? Maduro is still in power... The world has devolved into bold violations of free speech and overt censorship by not only arresting people for memes but targeting CEOs of platforms that all people to post them. You can say that the system is broken and voting doesn't matter... that's fine. But if I can't count on you to vote, than how can I count on you for what is inevitably coming our way? Kudos to those in the UK tearing down cameras. Kudos to the Irish for never taking shit. There is a way out of this, but it looking more and more like Gangs of New York.
