Sad day Elderly neighbor adopted a 2 year old Pitt Bull Terrier from the animal shelter. Beautiful dog. Neighbor called me in a panic. Asked me to come over and shoot the dog. When I opened the neighbor's door, I was greeted by a floor covered in slippery blood. The blood was all over the furniture as well. My neighbor was leaking out of three dozen deep punctures in his right arm. The dog was calm, laying in the floor panting. I got the neighbor out of the house. His unjuries were not life threatening. Gave him first aid. Called the SO to report a dog bite. When the Deputy arrived, he took the information for his report. As the neighbor requested, I shot the dog dead. Took the neighbor to the ER to get him patched up. No permanent injury. Pitt Bull Terriers have a place in this world. That said, these dogs are notoriously dangerous. They can and do kill people. Owning one comes with grave responsibility.
