I use to believe the narrative that ‘war was profitable’. Everyone said it. But I now realise that’s not true. that #war is funded through printing #currency, which will further inflate and debase the currency making the country poorer and more in debt. See thread for further avenues of it being a cost. Some groups will definitely profit for their arms deals etc. But by and large the #governments and its people become poorer.

If America doesn’t adopt the bitcoin standard at least to some degree. They will collapse as the leading super power. It’s a race of the top 5 ish nations to be the first to successfully integrate #bitcoin into their #government.

Finally getting around listening to this staple! Fascinating (and devastating) how Europeans eroded the wealth of some African people groups by obtaining/stealing their #wealth (in the form of other assets) through cheap production of the local #monetary exchange (glass beads). Essentially what the government does now. Prints fake currency and purchases real #assets.
