Only been here for a couple of days. Took some time to understand and setup the basics It's so refreshing to be here. The news, the zaps and, of course, the memes. It's just great Haven't seen a single post about "btc going to 1m" or "btc will melt faces at 100k" and crap like that Guess that's just the difference between people buying bitcoin to chase more dollars and the people buying it to change the world GM

In 1971, Richard Nixon "temporarily" suspended the convertibility of the dollar into gold, effectively stealing other countries' gold They thought that they could avoid default by keeping everyone's gold and forcing countries to have a demand for dollars in order to trade internationally Interesting statistics after 1971 (they have not lifter this temporary suspension and they will most likely never do so):

1. Never share your private keys with anyone 2. Keep your private keys safe, and only accessible to you 3. Never send someone money to buy Bitcoin for you (it's a lot easier than you might think to just buy your own Bitcoin and to custody it in your own non-custodial wallet) 4. Be wary of sharing personal information on the internet (or this community). Once it's out there, it's out there and may make you susceptible to exploit in the future

The freedom use case for Bitcoin, I think, is best explained by Alex

Can one post here without getting censored? Is this platform decentralized?
