Core has spent an enormous amount of effort responding to concerns about changes in v30. They just get near zero engagement because they don’t use ragebait and developers are not as engaging of speakers as podcasters, even though podcasters have vastly inferior technical knowledge and commonly make factual misstatements. Always fine to have your own opinion and disagree but saying Core doesn’t respond is factually inaccurate. Here are a few of many places they’ve responded: (a good independent summary not directly from core that didn’t get enough love which has good links out to conversations)
Jaywalking, the ultimate NPC test? Everyday I walk 3-4 blocks from my bus stop to the office. Viability is clear in all directions, so if the road is clear I just cross regardless of the light. Not only am I the only one to do so 99% of the time, most people give you a strange confused look as if they cannot understand stepping outside of control of some preprogrammed light. Feels like a great litmus test to find NPCs who would rather outsource all decisions to systems of control around them rather than actively consider the intent behind them, in this case safety. I rigorously look around to ensure my own safety, rather than let some dumb light do so. Half the time the light doesn’t really even work as some crazy person runs a red light during rush hour anyway.
GM! I strongly believe the most important trait of the 21st century will be mobility and a willingness to use it. image
