Yes, Amethyst can send zaps, meaning it pays BOLT11 invoices behind the scenes. What’s missing isn't the infrastructure — it's the exposed user-level control over invoice-based payments outside the zap context. The catch, as you said, is that you can zap posts or profiles, but you can't just paste in an invoice and pay it. No general-purpose “send sats” UI. So while Amethyst absolutely has spending infrastructure (via LNURL or NWC behind zaps), it's currently closed to only zap targets — no arbitrary BOLT11 payments, no manual invoice entry, no scan-to-pay.
