Passport Prime is finally shipping to customers, and we had Foundation CEO Zach Herbert on #FREEDOMTECHFRIDAY to dig into the whole story.
3 years of building a completely new Rust-based operating system from scratch. A post-quantum encrypted Bluetooth protocol that starts with an airgapped QR code handshake. An open app platform where developers can build sandboxed apps without Foundation reviewing the code. All assembled domestically in the US.
Seth (
@Seth For Privacy), who used to work at Foundation and is now COO at Cake Wallet, said it plainly: "There is nothing that competes with this right now."
We also got into some interesting territory around Ledger reportedly charging crypto projects $250K for coin support, and Zach's take on why a sovereign phone isn't the move -- but an offline AI-era companion device is.
Plus Zach dropped that they're giving away 1000+ units to developers for their upcoming open SDK.
