Turning 35 today 🎂! The last five years flew by while I was deep in self-healing by isolating in nature, finding God, and using every free resource I could find to grow. My birthday always got sidelined growing up (one of six kids, two weeks after Christmas). But, as an adult, I see all the free ways they could’ve made me feel special. So I heal another piece of my inner child today: bought myself the saxophone I lost when our home was foreclosed in ‘08. Most of my childhood things are gone—mom’s alcoholism and an abusive marriage left scars (I was spared physically, but the hurt was real). My journey is not over! I’m not where I want to be, but I have far surpassed my goal from five years ago. My greatest gifts are that God lights my path and my husband @BTCJon21 never gives up on me ❤️. Today and until I decide to put it down again, I’ll play for fun and make a ‘joyful noise for Jesus’, the little girl I once was, and the woman I am today. Sunday restock 🐐🥛🧼 Got lots done on the homestead this weekend! -Cleaned up some debris from a fallen tree in the #goatstr pen and burned a big ol’ brush pile. Lots of good firewood still there for later this winter though 🪵! -We made a big dent in our serving tray order. That’s what the dogs were helping with yesterday. We’re gonna get that delivered to the retail store Black Friday am. So that’s what we’ll be doing in the PM’s this week. -Got some waterfowl wings cut this afternoon. Muscovys are really great flyers and we hate to cut their wings, but to avoid them flying off and coming home with clutches of 30 ducklings, it has to be done. We also do it out of respect for our neighbors since they’ll go as far as their property and roost around their home. Had to cut the heritage turkeys’ wings too. The barnyard mix breed ducks are too fat to fly. -Restocked the goats milk soap supply. Went with orange & ceadarwood scent this time. -Enjoyed a sermon by The Church of Eleven22 and found a cool Christian marriage advent program that’s also #ennegram based. I’m excited to start that in December! We’ve been having a lot of fun with that “woo woo” stuff lately. #homesteading #selfsufficeint #goatmilksoap
