Having never installed a password manager on GrapheneOS, where does a password get saved if you say “yes” when asked if you want to save it?
I see where you can add password managers, but not where to find saved passwords 🤔

GM friends, happy Saturday! What’s your weekend looking like?
“On this episode of why are we bullish”, I’m bullish AF on the impressive range of amazing privacy tools being built. Left or right, rich or poor, white or black, we all deserve digital privacy. From govt’s, companies, and hell, even nosy neighbors! (Yes, some lady was giving me shit about my license plate yesterday, after yelling at some construction guys about making too much noise. No, she had nothing better to do).
Anyway, I’ve been hearing interesting things about #obscura VPN from Brian Dong (is he on nostr?) so I thought I’d give it a shot. I was very impressed.
Here’s what I texted wifey the other day, when she was having trouble getting her VPN (Nord) to work while traveling:
——
If you can’t get connected, I’ve been testing a new VPN called Obscura; it was built by Carl Dong (he was an early Bitcoin Core developer) and its modeled after Apple’s private relay model (uses two “hops” instead of one) but rather than owning both servers, the second one is owned by Mullvad (arguably the best VPN provider), so that neither party can see or de-anonymize the data. And it’s FOSS (obviously I’m not reading the code, but if there’s an obvious issue it’ll be caught sooner or later).
The best part(s) —
1) it’s insanely fast, as in, I’ve taken multiple video calls with zero lag and perfect video quality(!!!),
2) it formats your web traffic in some way so it doesn’t look like you’re using a VPN, meaning sites that often block Nord or Mullvad (like Reddit, BofA, etc.) don’t even realize, and
3) it’s significantly cheaper than Nord, and accepts payment over Lightning/no KYC nonsense.
The only downside is that they haven’t released an iOS version yet, so it’s computer only. But since it’s only your laptop that’s giving you trouble (right?), that shouldn’t matter.
——
Needless to say, we’re both converts. Wen iOS? 😁

There can be enough space for men to be masculine and women to be feminine, without rejecting and ostracizing people who don’t vibe with either category. Embrace who you are. If someone rejects that, they can fuck off.
This is true for men in the context of (whichever type of) feminism that rejects masculinity. This is true for women in the face of being pressured to work (or being pressured into motherhood). It’s true for trans people in a world that denies their lived experience.
Indigenous cultures often acknowledge (and respect) an alternative way of identifying oneself, and neurobiological studies show significantly different brain activity and hormones in people who feel different inside vs out.
I have never experienced this feeling, and it would be arrogant to claim that I know much about it.
But I know what it feels like to be a man. It means confidence and standing tall, but that’s very different from abusing your power.
It means respecting (and protecting) the lives and experiences of people around me. It means respecting women’s power, and weakness. It means acknowledging my own strengths and flaws, ones that I share with many of my brothers. Being grounded in masculinity means holding space for the differences between us.
The culture war bullshit is, indeed, bullshit. And pendulums will always swing. But my hope is that, as we move closer to equilibrium, more of us will learn to abide in compassion, and become able to listen without immediately believing OR rejecting the views of those around us, and bring more Light into the lives of those around us. We’re all conditioned by our environment, and it can take immense effort to unravel that conditioning and experience the world for what it is.
I believe in human goodness - it’s why I Bitcoin. It’s why I’m here on Nostr.
But we have a long way to go.
GM and happy Friday, friends!
I had an interesting conversation with my cousin yesterday; she was stoked about a particular electric car company’s stock.
I successfully made a case for Bitcoin (and why it’s an entirely different mindset than stock picking) but I also looked into the company she liked. Their stock was doing terribly, and it got me thinking.
If you see a particular industry as having huge upside potential, but want to avoid the risk and nonsense of choosing a winning company, it makes sense to invest in the industry’s dependencies. You might miss a bit of the individual firms’ upside (because profit margins) but you benefit from the industry’s landscape as a whole.
So it got me thinking, what is the Bitcoin network/industry/exonomy dependent on?
Microchips, and energy, for miners… communication infrastructure/internet service for nodes… but in a way, because Bitcoin is money, it’s interconnected with everything. No commerce, no need for Bitcoin (kind of). And it’s simple enough that when Bitcoin pumps, hodlers benefit.
But I’m still thinking about it. As Bitcoin adoption spreads, as more people hold and use it, what are some of the upstream companies/industries — those who aren’t already Bitcoin-adjacent — who will benefit?
(Disclaimer: asking purely out of curiosity. Personally, I’d rather just hold more ice cold corn).

I’d be curious to hear your opinions, @Lyn Alden and @preston, if you have a minute 🤙
Studio Ghibli films will always be some of my favorites 🥹🤣🤣

I might have compromised this nsec. At least, probably exposed.
I don’t expect someone to try and abuse my account, if the key is ever even seen by anyone, but just for good measure, I’m delegating my “Boston ninja” profile below as a backup.
If I post from there and say that my primary account is done, then trust it. Please toss that account a follow, if you don’t mind 🙏
Careful with that copy/paste, kids…
Some hashtags and I’ll bookmark this note to make it easier to find if I need it in the future. And if anyone has suggestions, I’m all ears.

Anyone have experience with Kingston industrial microSD cards? I’m seeing 16GB around $20.
Looking for a couple backups (for something like a ColdCard) and $40 for the ones sold by CoinKite just seems like a lot.
I do recognize these cards aren’t cheap and it can be tough to find good ones, so if the advice is “just go with CoinKite”, I will. Also trying to gauge what sort of storage space I’d need for a rarely-used cold storage signer.
Thoughts? #asknostr
Finally got the two missing pieces for this T-beam to come together: a proper case and rechargeable batteries (kind of important).
Blew my mind when I turned it on and opened the app to find more than 20 active nodes within range. This is cool af 😎
One question - is there a way to be online & engage with other nodes without revealing my location? (It’s fine if not, but it will determine how I use the thing). #asknostr

Good morning and happy Monday, nostriches! Big love to all of you.
Here’s a fun clip from a recent train ride. Turned down the brightness and upped the sharpness and now it looks super psychedelic 🍄😂🌅🤙

Company “equity and tax” overview meeting this morning
This is the first job I’ve ever had where I’m able to own a bit of the company, and it completely changes the game.
It finally feels like my effort and contribution have a direct impact on my current and future well-being, where my team and I are pulling on the same rope, and all of my colleagues are aligned in the value we’re trying to create.
It took a lot of time and hard work to get here. But I’m finally not “looking for the next thing”.
Feeling a lot of gratitude today 🙏
Goodnight 🫂🌗🏞️🤍

Good morning. Good year. I’m fucking ready for it.
Feels good to be in the city 🌃

[Hashing] feels good, man 🤙
Question is, how do you all get your significant others to put up with that quiet (imo) humming?
I guess a 1-BR apartment isn’t the ideal setting 😆
