Passed by the busy city market today and saw farmers hard at work—packing, sorting, and unloading their fresh produce.
The past few months have been a struggle for many farmers due to oversupply, causing prices to drop significantly. On top of that, middlemen often bargain for even lower prices, leaving farmers with very little profit from all their hard work.
Recently some barangays in baguio specially along kenon road and marcos highway let the farmers display their loads along the main roads where tourist pass by. Allowing them to sell their goods directly to consumers.
It's heartbreaking to see that those who are often called the backbone of the nation are the ones who suffer the most, while others earn more from the products they worked tirelessly to grow.
To our farmers, thank you for your dedication and sacrifices. 🌱💚
