I don't know if it has anything to do with zaps and the monetization aspect, but I notice that I never see comments on Mastodon that I consider spammy, while literally every post in here is filled with them.

I don't know if this is what the name #Lemmy comes from, but it has some very interesting relation to #Reddit: If someone sends you a web page, you can reply - "I already reddit" - "lemmy read that" 🤔

The best plot twist would be if #Reddit turns 180 degrees and goes full donations only and becomes the best funded non-profit on the internet. I think it can easily out-fund #Wikipedia. Maybe they even implement #ActivityPub federation with #Lemmy. Ah no, Reddit employees and mgmt can't decide that of course; forgot about capitalism for a second there.

So today starts the #reddit boycott. Is anyone here on #Lemmy?

You know a new thing is catching on when spam starts to appear. Just had to block two nostr accounts that mentioned me. To the #nostr devs: hoe does blocking work? Like, I'd it client-local? Is there a way for two clients to sync a block list?

Anyone know any good #opensource #Bitcoin price tracker apps for #Android? Ideally want something that can be configured to give notifications whenever a certain price moment happens, like 1% in an hour or something like that. Been using TabTrader for years but they are launching their on coin nowadays

Is there a way to have a Lightning address when using #Phoenix? Is it on their roadmap?

I found the idea of Zaps kinda lame. But I have it a try just now and I'm kinda impressed how seamless it was to send someone 3.50 bits just like that in seconds..
