#GrowNostr #homesteading #chickens #NWMissouri My wife loves her chickens… but, I don’t understand her organization of which eggs are oldest! LOL 😂 I know, as long as they don’t have the bloom washed off they are good for 30-40 days on the counter. So many things learned from farmers and homesteaders. Why do we do so many things backwards in the USA? Many countries it is illegal to sell washed eggs… just glad we get 8-10/day from our little flock and not the store. These days 28 eggs is like $14 worth or so I think, unless you buy the crummiest commercial ones!

#GrowNostr #homesteading I’m curious how many other folks have an #LGD that help provide their own food? Our 1 yr old female Great Pyr hardly has a day go by when we don’t see her with a new chew toy or snack. Today was a baby bunny, last time I noticed was a raccoon, she’s brought home deer legs, skulls with antlers and meat on them, and one time an entire deer! I’d guess 75-100 pounds, and it took her and our other big dog almost a week to reduce it to a twisted hide. #carnivore dogs wanted a break from dog food I guess 😂🤪😁

#GrowNostr Had a good day today, mounted foundation on frames for our three #bee swarm traps, found and prepped 2 locations about 10’ up along the South edge of our woods. (Thanks to my buddy for all his help!) Folks at the local gas station said we need more natural #beekeeping in our area since they’ve noticed a marked decline. Will try to post some pics when I get them installed.

Does anyone have suggestions for a Nostr client that doesn’t require Google Play Services? Amethyst says it is required on my new Pixel 6 running GrapheneOS. New to FOSS, but trying as an old guy! LOL
