The UK Gov pays almost a billion pounds annually to wind farm operators, mainly in Scotland, to produce less power!
The result of this is much more natural gas used to keep up with peak demand times, therefore much higher co2 emissions.
They have failed to invest in the national grid and as a result are paying hundreds of millions annually to huge corporations.
imagine a world where each wind farm had a pumped hydro scheme or similar, and there were mining operations in place to take advantage of the huge amount of stranded energy.
Renewable-powered pumped-hydro batteries are hopefully coming soon, anyone smarter than me want to tell me why its a terrible idea for Scotland to store its curtailed energy in the lochs and/or invisible underground pumped hydro systems?
