Spring is my favorite. The fruit trees are budding out, the oaks are pondering strategy as they know summer’s heat is ahead. The hills are green with grass, the cows are fat…such a vibrant, rejuvenating time. So thankful.

I love #damus but I swear if it dumps my follow lists again I will scream. I’m using #primal to back up my follow lists on a second nsec. Problem solved, clunky, but solved.

This is the special skill that pathological liars possess. The key is to drink of one’s falsehood so deeply that the delusion becomes your truth, and that truth when told is conveyed as honesty in the eyes. Some need a kernel of truth at the heart of the lie to accomplish this, but not all. “Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them. The Party intellectual knows in which direction his memories must be altered; he therefore knows that he is playing tricks with reality; but by the exercise of doublethink he also satisfies himself that reality is not violated. The process has to be conscious, or it would not be carried out with sufficient precision, but it also has to be unconscious, or it would bring with it a feeling of falsity and hence of guilt.” Excerpt From Nineteen Eighty-Four George Orwell

I’ve had an injured piglet living on the kitchen floor in a bath of infrared light for three days. I called her paraplegic Penny, fed her goat milk every four hours with the faint hope that she might recover from her days old trauma. She passed away this morning, probably for the better as her struggles are over, but she had a kind energy in her eyes and I miss it now sitting in the chill of eminent sunrise. Take time to appreciate all the life around you as it is so quick to vanish, like a spark in a drift of snow.
