Spontaneous rough thoughts: What if ‘they‘ didn’t care about our ₿? (I don’t own any btw.) Just using their paper ₿ to keep running their economy. Saylor wants to ‘donate’ his ₿ to the network after he’s gone, i.e. make bitcoin more scarce). If they don’t care how much/little pleb-₿ is in the system because they can drown it with their paper bitcoin, they could easily find ways to block plebs finding ways to use bitcoin for the foreseeable future while the fiat & bitcoin system exist side by side. Absorbing pleb’s ₿ through bitcoin based loans, then manipulating the market so the loans get liquidated etc. It doesn’t matter if it’s 21 or 9 million as a principle. As long as it’s limited it works. And/or they ‘let the plebs have fun playing with their Bitcoin’ for a while to keep them happy and not threatening. It’s all about managing the risk. They did it many times throughout history with all sorts of movements. Digital surveillance, ID, KYC, etc will be doing its part obviously. IMO it’s about being prepared for a rough transition phase w/o losing faith. The only way is P2P trading to keep the ball rolling. Just like Satoshi had envisaged.
