Nostr client devs: How about an option to only show reposts if I don't follow the original poster? Scrolling through a dozen reposts of a message I've already seen kinda sucks.
Helped a friend set this up:
Umbrel node on an old laptop running Ubuntu Server
Cold wallet on second (dedicated) laptop with Coldcard+Sparrow
Watch-only access (for monitoring and deposits) on Android BlueWallet
Both wallets communicate with the node using Tailscale.
Setting this up was a pretty fun project! And that laptop synced up in a day and a half. So much faster then my RPi node (~7d).
What will it be like when companies and nations that are 'holding' bitcoin at 3rd parties get rugged for hundreds of thousands of BTC? Will we still be assholes for saying 'not your keys, not your coins?' I'm also going on the record now to say, "Your rollback to reclaim your lost coins is just an airdrop for me on your fork. The BTC you thought you had on the actual blockchain (the one my node will remain on) was never really yours at all. So no, you can't get it back."

I've spent nearly a decade trying to get better at something I'm not really very good at: bjj. This pursuit has improved nearly every aspect of my life. There are physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, and even financial benefits I never anticipated.
If you're sitting there doom scrolling right now, find a local gym and ask about a free trial (most will give you at least a free week). Don't worry, you don't have to get in shape first, they'll help you with that. Just check your ego at the door- it's likely that a lot of what you think you know is wrong. In fact, that's the first and maybe the best lesson of all.

Converted an old laptop to an Ubuntu server today by following these guides:
0) Yanked the internal (small) mechanical HD and plugged in a 1TB USB drive.
1) Followed

3) Taught the laptop to stay awake when the lid was closed:
Up and syncing now.
This was a fun project to spend a few hours on, and it gave an old laptop a new life. Noticed this laptop has two interna drive bays, so I *might* try a RAID 1 variation someday soon. Any advice?
I've used Ubuntu before, but never Ubuntu Server. Seems like it trims a lot of excess 'fat' as all I really wanted was an OS to host Umbrel's Docker stuff. So far it's syncing pretty fast. Interested to see how it performs compared to my old Raspberry Pi Umbrel node.

I set up Sparrow on my PC and Nunchuk on my phone, using the same seed and Tapsigner for both. I can track balances or spend from either PC or Mobile, but can't sign anything w/o the Tapsigner. Not exactly hot, not exactly cold; is this a warm wallet?
