I was talking with an Indian colleague today. He asked if the US has an 'official' digital currency. He knows I'm a hardcore maxi. He remarked about the Indian digital ruppee and that time in 2016 when India declared a whole pile of banknotes to be worthless.
I said and what do you think they will do when they get everyone locked into that platform and inflation runs hot...?
Or when you have expended your carbon consumption allotment?
Or when you try to buy some candy and they say no sorry your too fat that purchase isn't authorized.

I’ll tell you what I think about the way
This city treats her soundest men today:
By a coincidence more sad than funny,
It’s very like the way we treat our money.
The noble silver drachma, which of old
We were so proud of, and the one of gold,
Coins that rang true (clean-stamped and worth their weight)
Throughout the world have ceased to circulate.
Instead the purses of Athenian shoppers
Are full of phoney silver-plated coppers.
Just so, when men are needed by the nation,
The best have been withdrawn from circulation.
@jack mallers If I asked strike to nuke my transaction history, would / could they do it?
I'm just wondering if there is some legal / statutory requirement to retain that info or if its just corporate policy.
