#wotathon Idea: A WoT score that could be used in #fediverse bridging protocols, like the Mostr/Momostr bridges, to present as "this user is reasonably well-trusted on Nostr, you should let them participate"...

Of all the exciting things happening on Nostr, one big disappointment for me is the lack of good functionality of Fediverse bridges like Mostr and Momostr. The Fediverse has something like 500k DAU's vs Nostr's ~10K. If we're really interested in mainstream adoption, it would seem like a better strategy to encourage cross-platform connectivity with the Fediverse vs our occasional "flirtation" with the "X girlfriend" that clearly doesn't care about us. Alex Gleason made a passionate case for the Mostr bridge 2 years ago (which might as well have been paleolithic era in Nostr time), but seems to have moved on to other projects... And I'm not sure who's responsible for Momostr. The state of these bridges today is that 1. they "work" to surface posts on your feed, but 2. You have no idea if you comment or reply whether anyone on the other end will see it Part (2) is the real killer for communication, and seems like it's easily fixed. Isn't is technically feasible to put some kind of badge or icon or some other way of surfacing whether or not (a) said instance federates with the bridge, and (b) whether or not the person on the other end will actually see your post? I just don't understand why no one on Nostr seems to care about this.

#asknostr Do "bridges" like Mostr actually, like, work for 2-way communication? Is there any Nostr native way of telling whether replies to bridged Mastodon posts actually make it back to the instance?

Watched "The One" (2001) (from my local library app) last night, after hearing the "recommendation" from the excellent #badmovies podcast The Flop House. Was NOT disappointed. You will see: * Alternate universe Jet Li's with both Rasta Dreads and a mop of blonde hair * A remote-controlled exploding Mouse Bomb hidden in a platform high heel * Jet Li tries to act * Jet Li picks up a motorcycle in each hand and waves them around like sticks * All the best NuMetal needle drops 2001 had to offer I mean, it's *basically* Everything Everywhere All at Once
