I guess you basically have to presume that the people protesting the invasion of their neighborhoods and abduction of their relatives are somehow, ACKSHUALLY, part of a vast and labyrinthine conspiracy to implement big government, and the jackbooted thugs pepper spraying them are... Actually on the side of "small government"?
I guess it's the same mental framework that casts Palestinian teenage rock-throwers as the "actual" bad guys
