Partisanship is the biggest impediment to the spread of digital sovereignty.
The techie left, exemplified by people like @Cory Doctorow , correctly views the US dollar as an instrument of Imperialist control... But can't conceive that the open, decentralized, and pluralistic alternative of Bitcoin has been there the whole time.
Meanwhile many of the "Freedom Tech" devs on Nostr don't get that their biggest customers should precisely be the "huddled masses" and "wretched refuse", the illegal immigrants, the refugees, etc.. I.e. the people who want to start productive lives, but are shut out of existing systems of finance and work by the State.
