GM... We're all "immigrants" on Nostr. We came here because the Old Country of centralized social media wasn't working for us, for whatever reason.
๐ง๐๐๐ฌ me trying to find the line on the HE laundry detergent cup...
"oh 'line A', YOU SAY?? OK let me try to read that as a <1 mm raised bump against a 2 mm thick semi-translucent plastic wall"
With the "Cambrian explosion" of clients right now, it's interesting to see how they variously handle the #mostr and #momostr protocol bridges...
โฉ #ditto seems to ignore them completely? IDK what it is, but my Momostr follows don't seem to show up on my "following" feed...
โฉ #nostria seems to have the best behavior overall, which is to treat these as "basically" like any other Nostr post, but with the awareness that they are bridged from another protocol (although reposts don't work for some reason)
Hey @Nostria still can't "boost" (repost) Mastodon posts -- the options to share that exist for Nostr-native posts don't pop up

OK after a bit of a "Rumpsringga" with #wisp and #ditto, finding myself back to #amethyst for the most part...
โฉ Wisp is the only one of the three that supports kind 30015 interest lists as feeds, which is great, but the UI still isn't quite there yet to make it seamless
โฉ Ditto is super-nice in UI, but has very minimal hashtag support
โฉ With both of them (Wisp and Ditto), I seem to be missing posts from Mastodon follows (via Momostr) that show up cleanly in Amethyst
Amethyst really needs to implement Kind 30015, this could slot easily into the top drop-down for the main feed option... So you'd have both kind 30000 (follow lists) and kind 30015 (interest sets) as selectable feeds
Standing in line for something today, I realize the parallels between open source and free public services.
There's the (right-coded) idea that, it's free, therefore you should be happy with whatever "slop" you get. You can see this in public services where there's no online sign up, you have to go there physically, line up outside, stand in lines for hours, etc.
Conversely, there's the (left-coded) idea that there is some kind of obligation of care if you're presenting a service to people, even if it's not a hard-coded legal or ethical requirement.
I see this tension especially in Freedom Tech open-source, where many developers are hardcore libertarian (like myself), but aren't necessarily conscious of this underlying dynamic.
Are we, the users, "freeloaders" or "patrons"?
Nostr's seeing a real development push at the moment, and I'm here for it... For all 15 of us, we'll have the best damn Apps in all of Decentralized Social ๐คฉ
