I'm using Lumo from Proton, and it's decent, but my renewal's coming up soon and I want to know what other good options might be out there... Not ready to run local models quite yet. OK with "trust me bro" privacy (i.e. Proton) as long as the entity is able to make a reasonable legal commitment to it.

OK assuming this isn't just a cynical marketing ploy, the root of Anthropic's "concern" here seems to be the idea of "The Singularity", which is basically self-improving AI that takes off and becomes unstoppable. I've always considered this idea to be kind of bonkers (even as a transhumanist)... Just finished "The Audacity" on AMC+... Really good, the concept is kind of "Silicon Valley but 10 years later and they've all grown up into cynical rapacious billionaires"... Billy Magnusen is excellent as a morally bankrupt CEO of a Palantir-style data mining company. It's one of those shows where it's really difficult to empathize with the main characters, but I'm a sucker for "the dark side of innovation" plot so I was hooked. #tv
