Couldn't sleep and was up before the Sun this morning. Then, it suddenly dawned on me.

MegaVan Update: Day8 Bit of background and reasoning for the MegaVan. Currently renting but it's too damn expensive, and in the wrong location as we would like our daughter to go to college in another county (4 counties away!) Couldn't find a rental in the area and wasn't eligible to buy (straight up mortgage or shared ownership) even though we could afford a deposit.!?! Started looking at static caravans, mobilehomes and finally settled on converting a 7.5t box lorry into a habitable dwelling. We've found a serviced place to park it only 10 minutes from the college! And for half what rent or mortgage costs! It was a no-brainer, the only difficulty was we've gotta downsize, a house of personal affect to clear, a MegaVan to build and a relocation in less than a few weeks!!! Some think we're mad, crazy or insane but many have shown support and lent a hand where they could. And the help keeps coming from complete strangers and friends of these now new friends, who all sympathise with our dilemma. Thanks for reading this. MegaVan Update: Day8 WTAF Renogy! 1st you cancelled my order and said you didn't know when stock would be available. So would I like a refund? Yes, I replied. Nothing for 24hrs... Then, You asked 'are you sure you want it refunded?' Me: For clarity, Yes please, immediately. Another 24hrs... Renogy: Oh that'll be with you in 7-10 business days... (what an outfit! Glad I didn't go with them after all.) 24hrs later... Renogy: "Order shipped!" - 2 emails so far telling me it's shipped! For The whole order!!! God knows what's going on... Only time will tell. 🙄 Oh and floor insulation is down, batterned and boarded. Spent this afternoon sizing and positioned for 1st Window, internal bedroom wall and external habitation door, all marked ready for drilling, cutting and fitting. Exciting time ahead. 😁

MegaVan Update: Day7 Floor insulation and top is nearly finished but... Got majorly shafted by Renegy on my solar solution. Placed an order for 300watts of flex panels, controller, inverter, leisure batteries and all manner of other bits. Paid and order receipt received all in about 30 seconds. Well excited! Hours later a Support Email came through, No Stock available and I'd be refunded in 7-10 days!! Why even have products on a website if they're not even available FFS! It's like they don't even know what's in their warehouse! Can't commit to purchasing another solution elsewhere as funds locked up now...😭😭 Good job all the windows & door turned up. That'll keep me busy!

MegaVan Update: Day6 After the exhaustion of tanking the roof unexpectedly and battling howling summer winds and raining torrents! Got to actually putting down some insulation & battens on the floor! Progress at last. 😉

Does anyone have experience of Starlink in the South West of England? Gloucestershire region. Also what's its power draw/usage? Or is a MiFi a better option?

MegaVan Update: Day3. Early start banging on building suppliers doors for my delivery. Drove to workshop and started preparing the roof. Discovered impact damage might be cause of roof leaking!!! Wire brushed and swept clean. (started to rain). Continued through, now tanked and hopefully sealed. Waiting for more rain, time will tell.

I've bought a 7.5t lorry and am converting it into an on/off grid mobilehome for my family. As it will have 300w of Solar & linked to 200ah of leisure batteries, is it feasible to run a #btc miner during to supplement heating?

It is always darkest before the dawn. This too shall pass and you will endure and triumph, as you always have. Have faith and trust. Be strong in your abilities to adapt, change, molding the future to your will, keeping a steadfast course through the storming seas of this life. This too will pass.

Had a very hard week. Knew things were coming to a head and the most difficult decisions had to be made. Tomorrow is the financial point of no return. 3rd month of being unemployed with no jobs in sight. But I have the support of a wonderful wife and daughter to change everything for the better. Drastic times call for drastic measures.
