I unexpectedly spent one night last week diving deeply into both @Gigi website and a bottle of Meursault. So I had to have this! Gigi’s work is a gift to the community. image

In a time when I’m seldom reassured, it is great to see younger “mainstream” financial guys talk about money, debasement, and Bitcoin as an integral part of larger macro discussions. I’m a gen x-er, hence hopelessly cynical. But it’s great to see smart people from the next generation talk about how Bitcoin and sound money will play a role in rebuilding what the current governing establishment has wrought upon their futures.

I think the Washington, DC area needs a Bitcoin park. It would look different than Nashville or Austin, but there is a vibrant community here that needs a coalescing force. Bitcoin also needs to plant a flag inside the Beltway, because the fight is on. Capital Bitcoin?

Ok, no more vanity posts about my home mining experience! But on a serious note, the ability to play even a small part in supporting a decentralized global network from your house, without asking permission from anyone is a truly amazing experience. You can’t feel it unless you try it. We all have differing levels of technical ability, but the market has given us the ability, even for just a few dollars and regardless of our technical ability, to participate. View quoted note →

I guess because of .12% (yes, in case you missed it, “point”12%) of the hash rate, we have to shut the whole thing down. Still not thinking that covers the $80 billion in oil they were allowed to sell, but who’s really counting anyway? View quoted note → image

@OCEAN hit two blocks today. And for me, this was my first “no shit there I was” mining moment, the first since I joined the pool. Don’t we all remember our first time? My hash rate contributions were small, really don’t know what I’m doing, and I definitely talked more shit than anything else. But it was still freaking cool! View quoted note →

I’m back to default settings, 490 MHz, core voltage at 1166. I’m running between 550 - 600 Gh/s, a little slower, but with great stability. Steady at 54C. I can run it harder, but this is kinda where it likes to be. I might need another one. Doubt my wife would notice.🤔 View quoted note →

I feel like Bitcoiners understand the wave of regulatory challenges coming our way. I also see some great efforts to educate lawmakers and regulators about what this ecosystem is all about. But where I feel like we’re failing is the political organization side of things. We forget how susceptible lawmakers are to pressure - especially in an election year. We forget how much pressure vulnerable lawmakers can put on regulators. We forget the impact of several thousand calls and emails to lawmakers office. With all due respect to @jack , this is not about law and order absolutists prevailing. One only need look at the lawlessness overtaking so many communities. This is about political control - power. Bitcoin threatens the power of the regulatory class. But Bitcoiners can threaten the power of the political class. By the smallest estimate, there are 26 millions Bitcoiners in the US. Much smaller constituencies have moved political mountains. And we can do so as responsible members of our communities. Most of you might hate it, but we need to get into the political fight. We talk about self custody, sovereignty. It’s time we actively stick up for these principles in the public square. @ODELL @jack mallers @Marty Bent

Humming along between 575-650 gh/s, set at 500Mhz, core voltage at 1200, holding steady at 55C. Joining @OCEAN took all of 2 minutes. image
