There is a surreal and pornographic thing that is pervasive on streaming media/podcasts: two men pretending to be engaged in normal social leveling behavior when they actually hate each other. It’s more disgusting and titillating when only one of the two knows what’s going on. People see this behavior constantly now. It is a standard dynamic. Up until a just a few years ago, you would have gone your entire life without ever witnessing this very specific type of antisocial human interaction.

I hardly even follow the news. News monitoring is an evolutionary glitch. Our brains assume that a crisis needs monitoring because we have an ability to immediately affect it. The reality is we have no ability to affect any crisis in the news, meaning monitoring it is applying an evolutionary survival function in a meaningless manner. There are a lot of things I do want to comment on, but I don’t fully have a grasp how any of it should be framed. Being offline largely, I’ve had the concentration for the kind of texts I used to read. After twenty years, I reread the primary works of Jaques Ellul, along with several related documents. My perspective has shifted dramatically. (Note: to be clear, I do not recant anything, everything I said was simply factual, it is simply that much of it now seems irrelevant.) Here is the underlying issue: there is this problem with no solution which drives everything in the world. Yes, that would include the Jews. In pre-technological society, Jews were a persistent nuisance, not an existential threat to the existence of all life on earth. I need to figure out framing here. The idea is quite simple. But everyone, including far-right extremists, have been conditioned not to be capable of processing it. Maybe it isn’t conditioning, but rather a psychological mechanism that prevents the mind from processing problems that do not have solutions. To prevent this from being overly vague for people not familiar with Ellul, I will give a simple explanation, but it is unlikely many will actually process it, and it may instead sound like the meaningless drivel I’ve put out in recent years. Basically, the modern technological society demands efficiency in all things. This is driven both by capitalism on the private level and great power competition on the state level. We don’t know what the most efficient means of doing something is. The most efficient path reveals itself through technological development and application. But there is only one “most efficient” path, and it will always win out. No technology in history has ever been removed from society because it was disruptive. The only time a technological means of doing something is removed is when it is replaced my something more efficient. This means that technology itself is progressing along a predetermined path, which humans, whether Western democracies or Chinese authoritarians, have no control over. External factors demand that they implement the most efficient processes, in every case, regardless of the human costs. The reality of this truth has been self-evident since shortly after Ellul wrote these books in the 1950s and early 1960s. But if the social disruption of smartphones didn’t make the reality undeniable. Among other threads you could pull at, all of the top AI developers are simultaneously claiming that the technology could or perhaps will destroy the world and kill all humans, and yet there is choice but to develop it. Regardless of the veracity of this claim, it demonstrates the internal logic of the machine. All attempts to regulate the development of the technology have been dismissed, with the society instead embracing the “inevitably” narrative. This speaks to the fact that technology is self-progressing, that humans are left merely to stand by and watch, to do their best to manage its effects. The machine hasn’t served us in a long time. We are servants of the machine. Humans exist for the sole purpose of implementing the will of the machine. The elite are now talking in terms of an “obsolete population.” In fact, that is an elite consensus. However, due to hubris or cognitive dissonance, they are missing the fact that to the machine, they are no more critical than an Amazon warehouse grunt. In World War II, neither side used mustard gas. They stockpiled it. And Japan did use it in China, though it was a limited use not known about until decades later, a decision made with the knowledge that China did not have stockpiles of the poison. The primary belligerents, the US and Germany and their allies, abstained from using it, knowing that if they did, the other side would, and it wasn’t worth it. In the international sphere, there is no such built-in inhibitor on technological development and deployment. In fact, it is the opposite, or the inverse. The external pressure is not only to develop weapons capable of matching those of the perceived enemy, but to deploy technologies domestically to integrate the strategic processes. While China has the mechanisms to simply tell AI developers to stop developing AI, or to selectively deploy it, for the purpose of maintaining social stability and preventing job loss and other corrosive social effects of the technology, if it is not fully implemented domestically, this creates a weakness against a state like the US where the systems are being fully implemented through the unrestrained liberal social system, where those who would regulate the tech are easily paid off and fraudulent studies are easily passed as science. China’s system gives them slight advantages in terms of public health. For instance, if Monsanto had knowingly continued to market Round-Up after internal studies had shown its toxicity, individuals would have been executed. But the power of a conservative economic order, along with the lack of any need to pretend the process is democratic, does not actually give them an edge on big issues of technological implementation. The competition with the US demands efficiency at all costs, and by definition, there can only be one “most efficient” method. Their most recent moral guidance publication for the public had clearly been edited to remove language directly critical of cellphone addiction, given that electronic business is a huge economic engine which the country needs for competitiveness. That is, reading the document, is clear that it originally contained explicit critique of the overuse of cellphones having a deleterious effect on society, but it was obvious to reviewers that they don’t have the luxury of addressing that problem due to structural economic necessity. The hope, if there is any (there isn’t, actually) is that because the Chinese system is currently more efficient, it will dominate the geopolitical competition, which will give them room to make decisions in opposition to technological determinism. It’s a long shot, but that’s the best I’ve got. Statistically, this all probably sounds like gibberish to you. It’s not. You can ask your favorite LLM to explain “Ellul technique” to you. It is an entire body of research, but Ellul created the language to describe the parameters we’re working with here. Ellul, you might recall, was the biggest influence on Ted Kaczynski and his manifesto. I have discussed these issues at some length previously, as I have most issues, but at this point, I don’t really see much point in discussing macro social and political issues in any other terms. All those words I just strained the status of my nervous system to tap out should at least prevent me from being in a situation of stating that “I have shifted paradigm that is too complicated to explain.” It’s not too complicated. It’s just intensely bizarre and specific. Somehow more bizarre and specific than “satanic pedophiles who eat children.” In future, I will negotiate better analogies. Things are very strange now, because not only can I not publish due to this disability, but can’t write my own notes as I have done my entire life to organize my thoughts. Lacking this structure, combined with whatever neural rewiring my brain is doing to establish a post-alcohol synaptic consensus model, I’m left feeling like there is a whole lot I need to say, but unable to pinpoint how to say it. There are a lot of things I want to say about the above paradigm, but there are, more importantly, things I want to say about the nature of being in “reality.” Combining all the things, there’s something important that needs to be said about the highjacking and exploitation of evolutionary biological systems in the human psyche by the technological system and the absurd and odious compulsive dysfunction this creates. Despite the nagging, ubiquitous allure of defaulting to philosophical nihilism, stoicism offers a much clearer path for the individual to navigate the sense of helplessness we all experience. It’s not a sense, but a fact. We are all totally helpless. Therefore, the only logical course is to isolate variables we have control over, and shape a state existence where these are the only things you engage with on an emotional level. If you can silence the external noise, however, that’s really just a modest first step. The much harder realization is that there are things within your self you can’t control, hardcoded by childhood trauma. This is the more stimulating avenue of inquiry. Regardless, despite appearances, I have not disappeared and don’t plan to. Because there are no financial incentives here, I don’t have immediate pressure. Which is a good thing and potentially a bad thing. Probably, my hand will start working again at some point. Note: If this was tedious to read, please know, that is a reflection of the writing process itself, physically. I have not plan to intensify the tediousness of my writing. So any government could just use AI to organize their own secrets instead of giving them to a shady US organization tied to intelligence. Further, I will continue to maintain that Chinese AI is much better and is actually driving development now, rather than the reverse. The infinite money glitch between Nvidia and OpenAI/Oracle is unsustainable unless the compute becomes significantly more efficient. LLM job replacement is almost as big of a hoax as "AGI." Hallucinations are fundamental to the technology. Mythos isn’t available for review, but according to Anthropic’s own data, it only hallucinates 3% less than Opus. This whole industry/media hype around it sure looks like a desperate attempt to prevent the bubble pop. Wow Firefox had a bunch of unfixed bugs? Who could have imagined such a thing. Can Mythos keep it from crashing with ten tabs open on a MacBook with 16gb ram? Can it write code that doesn’t take more time to fix than it would to write it manually? It’s all, conveniently, a secret. Regardles, no one doubted that more compute and development would lead to more “powerful” models, but the reality is that multipass didn’t fix hallucinations, can in fact make them worse with this telephone effect and there is no other solution anyone can think of. LLMs are efficient research assistants, on a personal level where they can be fact-checked. I don’t read think tank papers anymore, I have them summarized in normal language, but even on a fixed data set, all of these LLMs still hallucinate, it’s just that I can catch it because I understand the underlying concepts. This can’t scale. And it doesn’t even replace a professional research assistant, just maybe makes their job easier. I think these lunatics actually thought “a world war doesn’t matter because by the time shit gets real AI will fix it.” Instead, what we are likely to see is the economic fallout from this war being blamed on the AI bubble. Iran War: The Nuclear Elephant in Trump’s War Room Most of us are getting our information and analysis about the Iran War from podcasts. The mainstream news is useless, and to my personal regret, the days of blogging are mostly over. Alternative voices prefer podcasts. Judge Napolitano, Glenn Diesen, Danny Davis, that Uzbek guy, they are all running the same commentators in a loop, creating enough content to listen to every waking hour. (Given that this is all allowed on YouTube, and becoming very popular, one has to wonder if there is something more nefarious at work, though most of the people appear to me honest, so if it is a psyop, most of them are not in on it.) Tucker Carlson, the podcast beast, has a bigger variety of guests, and also gives his own commentary. Representing the Chinese perspective is Professor Jiang. This more or less overlaps with the other podcasts, though it contains more “hard conspiracy” type information, regarding the Freemasons and such, which is representative of a more conspiratorial perspective in China these days than in America. His “predictive history” is of a Chinese character as well, simply a way to put a mystical flare on “rational analysis based on available data.” (Note: I was deeply offended Tucker called Jiang a “prophet” in his interview title for predicting after the ear scratch that Trump would win and then start a war with Iran. Someone else called that. Someone very close. Someone writing this right now.) In my analysis, something like 85% of the stuff said on these podcasts about the war is correct. (Note: I exclude Scott Ritter, who is an unhinged kook and/or an asset designed to make anyone who hosts him look retarded. Publicly caught in two jailbait stings, he’d be an easy man to manipulate. Seriously, do you know how many “underage girls” have tried to contact me in the last 15 years? Guess how many I responded to. How stupid can you get?) In the 15% space where most or all of these podcast people miss the mark, there is a big problem. These are mostly older gentlemen who don’t seem to be able to grasp the idea that anyone, including Netanyahu, would be willing to start a nuclear war. However, he is willing and it is very obviously his plan. Let’s Walk Through This The current story, as we understand it, is that the Mossad chief, uniquely charismatic and handsome Jew David Barnea, convinced Donald Trump that he could do a “regime change from the air” in Iran. The claim was that if he killed the Ayatollah and some other leaders, did a bit of bombing, the population of the country would rise up and install a Jeffersonian democracy, or maybe demand the Shah return, or whatever. I can believe Trump believed this. I can’t believe anyone else involved at any level believed it. From reporting in the New York Times, we see that everyone in Trump’s cabinet, except Pete Hegseth (who doesn’t really count), said the plan was nonsensical. That includes Rubio, Ratcliffe, all of them. Regime change from the air has never happened (nb4 - there was a US-armed terrorist army in Libya, also that wasn’t a “regime change,” just the creation of anarchy, something which isn’t viable in Iran, given the missile and drone stocks would still exist and be used by someone). Assuming you do not completely dismantle the government, killing a national leader, no matter how unpopular the leader may be, always and invariably results in a “rally around the flag” phenomenon. In this case, you can imagine 19 year old men who were in underground disco on Molly on February 28 and in a cave, turbaned up and training in a with Kalashnikovs on March 1. People simply do not support countries that attack their country. There are decades worth of papers showing that what we’ve seen happen in this war is exactly what would happen: ballistic missile retaliation capable of devastating the US bases in the region and crippling the West Coast Gulf states for decades by destroying ports, oil fields, and water desalination plants, successful strikes on Israel, and the closure of the Straits of Hormuz. Further, everyone who studied the situation at all knew that this would lead to a global economic crisis, with the strangulation of oil, gas, fertilizer, helium. It is completely impossible that the Israelis believed “kill the Ayatollah and democracy will sprout limbs and crawl up out of the Persian Gulf like a Paleozoic Era tetrapod and waddle into Tehran” theory. Bibi is a lot of things, but he’s not retarded. The Mossad has all of the electronic spying data and the best human intelligence of any intelligence agency in the world. They’re not going to fall for bullshit any first year polisci grad student would laugh at. Consider the current situation: Iran has done what they were obviously going to do and is winning the war. There is no amount of bombing that can stop them from sending missiles at Gulf nations, US bases, Israel, and any unapproved vessel attempting to pass through the strait. Even completely leveling the cities, Gaza-style, will not end this ability Iran has. The possibilities being presented on the podcast circuit are that Trump can either give up and surrender, meeting most or all of Iran’s demands, including removal of US troops from the region, an end to Israeli aggression, and allowing Tehran to charge a toll on the Strait, or he can keep bombing until he runs out of bombs while the global economy collapses, and Iran will remain in the driver’s seat indefinitely. If we take this view, then we have to ask why it is that Bibi pushed so hard for this war. Either of the two stated potential outcomes puts Israel in a much worse situation than they were before the bombing. So then: what was Bibi’s plan? The only possible answer to that question is that Bibi planned to set the stage for a nuking of Iran. Not just a single nuke dropped on Tehran, mind you, as that wouldn’t really solve anything, but dropping 15-20 nukes and attempting to completely end the civilization. Trump must have at least heard of this plan (presumably after his “48 hour war” started), given the language in some of his Truth Social Posts, which has included “a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.” It would be unfair to say the podcasters are not talking about the potential of nuclear war. It does get mentioned. However, the fact that this has to have been Bibi’s plan is unaddressed. I’ve seen no one say it. And yet, there is no other way to work it through logically. I have heard some of these commentators address the idea that Bibi couldn’t possibly have believed the “popular uprising” theory, and their answers are that maybe he wanted to degrade Iran, which is definitely impossible given that he would have known exactly this current thing would happen, or that he was worried about his court cases, which is also ridiculous, given that he can hold that off with wars in Gaza, Lebanon, and the West Bank. It is simply a factual matter that the only possible thing Bibi could have been thinking was that he would be able to trigger a series of events that would lead to either Trump nuking Iran or Israel being “justified” in using their own nukes. He would prefer the former, but will settle for the latter. The Chinese have come to this same conclusion I have, though they haven’t stated it outright. “Unofficial” (or maybe “semi-official”) China state spokespeople have said that if Israel does use nukes, “it will cease to exist as a country.” Though issued lowkey, that is a very highkey threat from a country that is capable of making good on it. Maybe that will deter Bibi. I doubt it. The easiest path to a “justified” nuclear strike would be a 9/11 style event staged by Israel on US soil. This would probably get Trump to push the button. However, if that doesn’t work, it seems likely if not probable that at some point, Israel will just manufacture some atrocity on their own soil and say “our existence is being threatened” and launch the nukes. Netanyahu would then resign and be pardoned by the Israeli court. Obviously, I don’t know that this will happen. I’m not a wizard. I can’t predict events. Everything is in motion now, and all sorts of different things could happen. There are any number of unforeseen things that could occur and prevent this. However, right now, it is quite likely that the Iran War ends with a large scale nuclear strike on the country. Then what happens? I have no idea. No one does.
