The last president we had with any courage and selflessness who truly fought for the people was JFK. Don’t have to agree with all his policies to respect and admire him. He largely stood for what was good and they killed him for it. One of the only politicians I believes shares those qualities today is Thomas Massie. I would support him through thick and thin and this is coming from someone who hates both political parties.

Realizing more and more that I don’t mind disagreements, arguments or even rebukes (for the most part lol). But what I loathe is when people try to do my thinking for me. #self-differentiation

Question from #non-developer to #developers: Should non- technical folks invest time in at least learning the basics of some programming language to develop better understanding of the more technical aspects of #bitcoin and #nostr? If so, should I start with C++, JavaScript or something else? May sound like an obvious question, but trying to invest my time wisely and not sure if a lot of the most important concepts are better learned on their own or through the process of also learning a specific language. My short experience on Nostr has really radicalized my desire to deepen my technical understanding so that I can increasingly work towards a more sovereign computing setup and more fully take advantage of all Nostr has to offer in these early days. #asknostr

“I’m in love with Montana. For other states I have admiration, respect, recognition, even some affection. But with Montana it is love. And it’s difficult to analyze love when you’re in it.” - John Steinbeck Beautiful family wedding this weekend in Red Lodge #montana image

We’re going to take back our money from this cartel of thugs. All these international financiers including Keynes knew exactly what they were creating. Intentionally creating obscure mechanisms to destroy and extract as much as possible. We should take Keynes words at face value when he says: “Lenin is said to have declared that the best way to destroy the Capitalist system was to debauch the currency. By a continuing process of inflation governments can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their citizens. By this method, they not only confiscate, but they confiscate arbitrarily… Lenin was right. There is no subtler, no surer means of overturning the existing basis of society than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of DESTRUCTION, and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose” - John Maynard Keyes image

Imagine how cool a #Spotify like app for Nostr would be. Would love to be able to tip artists by the individual song. And I’m not an artist but can only imagine how satisfying it’d to be on the receiving end. People going out of their way to recognize and appreciate your art with sats?

As the Fed chair gets ready to make his remarks this afternoon, here is a good reminder of what Thomas Jefferson thought of the institution Powell represents: “A private central bank issuing the public currency is a greater menace to the liberties of the people than a standing army. We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt” - Thomas Jefferson This quote is not hyperbole. Thomas Jefferson and the Anti-Federalists would’ve been #Bitcoiners. Jefferson would’ve been roasting Hamilton on #Nostr.

Art often captures the experience of reality much better than data: Music especially so, in my experience. There is something about the way it penetrates my spirit that is unlike any other art form. My favorite song about the experience of fiat and inflation is a song by Allen Stone called “Unaware”. He’s a fellow WA state native who’s got some soul and some absolute pipes (wait til the 4:00 min mark!). This song is almost 15 years old and I’m not sure if he’s a Bitcoiner yet but he definitely understands what it’s like to be on receiving end of a corrupt, broken monetary system. The fact that it’s recorded from his mother’s living room makes it that much more fitting. A couple lines especially that stick out: - “Every day the deficit grows, we spend more than we own” - “Every day taxes increase, so is this our land or is this our lease?” - “Push, pull, tear…I can’t stretch it any farther” - Presumably referencing politicians: “You say that you care. I was unaware” Any other good songs that really capture the experience of fiat that resonate with you?

RIP Charlie. I disagreed with him on a lot, especially on what seemed like his unwavering support for Israel’s genocide of Gaza. Regardless of the disagreements I have with him (or any human on earth), I thoroughly respected Charlie’s courage and willingness to speak what he believed to be true. Assassinations like this accomplish a lot of things, one of which is to send a warning shot (literally) to those that speak out too much on certain issues or bring uncomfortable attention to certain topics. The work of cultivating places of free speech, free thinking and being able to speak without constantly self-censoring is as important as ever. And it’s one of the reasons so many on here are serious about growing the strength, resilience and scope of the #nostr network. I hope and pray that this unnecessary bloodshed emboldens even more people to speak truth, stop filtering themselves, and take our freedom and liberty back for future generations.

“We may one day become a great commercial and flourishing nation. But if in the pursuit of the means we should unfortunately stumble again on unfunded paper money or any similar species of fraud, we shall assuredly give a fatal stab to our national credit in its infancy” - George Washington, 1789 George Washington would’ve been a Bitcoiner

Dumb question but is there a recommended central #hub for discovering and tracking your #nostr apps?

Question: Is anyone on here working on a vacation rental app on here? Or could you at least tag someone who is really knowledgeable on here who may be able to provide any info on it? Appreciate it! Worst case scenario, as someone who has only been on here two weeks, I hopefully can get some good recommendations in the comments of knowledgeable Nostr folks who are worth a follow. Any re-posts so that I can get more follow recs in the comments would be appreciated. #nostr is a special place. It doesn’t take long to see that. Confident it will meaningfully contribute to #humanflourishing across the world #introductions #airbnb

One of the clearest signs of how soft we’ve become as a society: Total strangers frequently feel the need to tell my kids, right in front of me, to stop doing something because it’s not “safe”. This happens to me all the time with my boys when they’re jumping off stuff at parks, climbing trees, wrestling with each other, etc. Young, old, men, women, it doesn’t matter. Often I don’t even think people realize what they are doing, it’s just so ingrained to avoid any semblance of danger or any possibility of risk. Got so much as a Dad that I don’t understand or am not great at, but one thing I do know is that I will do everything I can to instill courage, resilience and anti-fragility into these kids. Takes a lot of intentionality in this bubble wrap culture though.
