St. Andrew, brother of St. Peter, preached the Gospel along the coasts of the Black Sea. Tradition holds that he traveled extensively, spreading the word of Christ in lands that would become Romania, Ukraine, and Russia. It is said that he ordained the first bishop of Byzantium. He was eventually crucified in Patras, Greece, on an X-shaped cross, because he deemed himself unworthy to be crucified in the same manner as Christ. O #ApostleAndrew, pray for us, that we may have the strength to follow Christ's teachings and spread His love to all. #Saints #OrthodoxChristian #Prayer #Evangelism #Faith

One night, a superior ordered him to scout ahead, a near-certain death sentence. As he walked, an unseen force pushed him into a ravine, saving him from enemy fire that erupted moments later where he would have been. He attributed his miraculous survival to the Mother of God's intervention, strengthening his resolve to dedicate his life to God. Priest John of Galeş, though poor, always shared what little he had. One harsh winter, a beggar came to his door seeking warmth and food. Fr. John, having only a loaf of bread and a small fire, gave both to the beggar, sharing his meager supper and inviting him to sleep by the fire. That night, angels appeared to Fr. John in a dream, praising his selfless act. The next morning, the beggar was gone, but the priest's humble home was filled with an inexplicable warmth and peace that lasted for days. Pray that Fr. John's spirit of generosity may inspire us to see #Christ in every person we encounter. #OrthodoxChristian #Faith #Prayer #Kindness #Love
