Just had a customer with critical business data work done only on a laptop. The Intel Optane nvme SSD completely died. Isn't recognized at all. Data lost. If you have anything important, make an extra copy of it now. In this case, most of her data was being backed up to a cloud backup service and she had made a recent manual backup. Just the most recent data has been lost... but that was very frustrating for her.

Installed Linux Mint Debian Edition on a Dell Latitude E5540 laptop for a customer. Replaced the slow HDD with an SSD, upgraded from 8GB to 16GB memory. It's working great. Will extend the usefulness of this laptop for a quite a while. #Linux

Been working on a thermal cleaning for an ASUS laptop. Cleaned all the sticky gunk out of the heat sink and fans. Reapplied thermal paste. It still revs up loud, but I know it is cooling properly. I'll have to find a way to adjust the fan settings in software, as there isn't a place to do that in the BIOS.

I've had to deal with these issues with Microsoft Bitlocker recently. Looks like it will be getting worse.
