According to The Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter, the United Arab Emirates has been conducting strikes against Iran. The report states that these operations included attacks on Iran’s refinery facilities on Lavan Island shortly after the announcement of the nominal ceasefire. The Journal also reports that the United States was aware of the UAE’s involvement and quietly welcomed the participation of the UAE and potentially other Gulf states in offensive actions against Iran. The UAE has been the target of a significant number of Iranian missile and drone attacks during the conflict and has repeatedly stated that it reserves the right to respond to such attacks by any means necessary. image

According to CBS News, citing anonymous U.S. officials, Pakistan and Afghanistan allowed Iran to reposition a number of military and civilian aircraft to their bases during the early stages of the conflict, likely to protect them from potential U.S. airstrikes.
