Reporters attempted to get President Trump to clarify remarks he made earlier in the day on Wednesday which appeared to support Iran’s ballistic missile program, to which he responded: “I’m saying that if other countries have them, it’s a little bit unfair for them [Iran] not to have some. A ballistic missile is not the same thing as what we’re talking about, when we talk nuclear. But if Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and they all have some, I would say, in relative proportion, I think it's okay.”

Speaking Wednesday at the G7 Summit in France, President Trump strongly defended the Iranian ballistic missile program, stating that they “have to have some, because other people have some,” specifically mentioning Saudi Arabia. Trump added that Iran’s ballistic missiles aren’t a problem, “Missiles, they hurt a little location, but they don’t blow up the planet.”

According to U.S. President Donald J. Trump, both China and Russia played a “neutral” role in the U.S.-Iran War over the past few months. However, while China did play a more neutral role, choosing to send a PRC envoy to the Middle East during the war, who played a minimal role, Russia actively aided Iran’s war efforts. During the war Russia sent drone components and other dual use goods to Iran via the Caspian Sea, bypassing the strategic choke point in the Strait of Hormuz.

REPORTER: Can you confirm that the agreement would end all sanctions on Iran, provide at least $300 billion in reconstruction financing, and release all frozen Iranian funds, which could exceed $100 billion? JD Vance: None of those benefits will flow to Iran unless the Iranian regime fundamentally changes the way it behaves.

(FT) — German defense company Diehl is in talks with Ukrainian manufacturer Fire Point to upgrade and potentially produce the Flamingo cruise missile in Germany. According to Diehl CEO Helmut Rauch, the company is considering equipping the missile with a significantly more advanced guidance system. “We are in discussions about how we could work together. I think this could really happen,” Rauch said. “In the next few weeks, we have several meetings regarding this, and then we will see.” If finalized, the partnership would see German industrial expertise combined with Ukrainian missile development experience to further enhance the Flamingo platform. image

President Trump: "Well, it's been reported that it includes a $300 billion construction fund funded by Gulf allies. That's false. False. People can invest if they want. I mean, what am I gonna do? Say nobody's ever allowed to invest? No. We're not investing, we're not putting up 10 cents, and people can decide to do that, but that's up to them. Do you want me to say nobody's ever allowed to invest in a country? I'll say it with Egypt. Nobody's allowed to invest in Egypt. Am I supposed to say that? We are not investing in it, and we do not have a fund." Reporter: "Are you asking the Gulf countries?" President Trump: "No. I'm not. I'm not. If they do it, fine. But I would say they won't be doing it for a while until they find out the behavior. It's a behavior thing. But that's a false story that got picked up incorrectly from a statement that was pretty well made, I think. Maybe it could have been a little more accurate, frankly. But it's a story. We are not investing 10 cents. Don't forget, there's never been anybody that's been so tough on Iran. This should have been done by Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama. It should have been done by Biden. It should have been done by Bush. It could have been done by a lot of people. This has been going on for forty-seven years. They've ripped you off for forty-seven years, and I'm the only one that did anything. But they never shot missiles at anybody. We wiped out their navy. We wiped out their military. We wiped out their air force. They have no anti-aircraft. They have no radar. You know, the reason oil stayed low is because we were taking ships out every night that you didn't even know about. Two days ago, three days ago, a month ago, we took out 22 ships. We averaged from 15 to 25 ships a night. Nobody knew that. Our Navy did a great job. Nobody knew what was happening. That's why oil didn't go to $300 a barrel. Now it's at $72.73. I heard it's lower than that now. I haven't seen it in the last couple of hours. We were very tough, and we took out a man named Soleimani. Remember that? You think this would have happened if he were alive? The evil genius. He was an evil genius. People forget that. I took out Soleimani in my first term. Without that, you probably don't have the situation that we're in today where we dominated. We dominated. We wiped out their military. And because we did that, and then we put up the blockade, which was totally effective. Not one ship got..."
