According to the Wall Street Journal, the next round of U.S.-Iran talks, set to take place this upcoming weekend, have been postponed to a yet unspecified date, following the newest spate of reciprocal strikes between the two belligerents.


CENTCOM has released footage of tonight’s U.S. strikes on Iranian military targets, which it says were carried out in response to Iran’s drone attack on the commercial tanker M/T Kiku.

Following U.S. retaliatory strikes against select targets in Iran, both Bahrain and Kuwait are now dealing with renewed Iranian drone and missile attacks, with Kuwait’s General Staff saying just earlier that air defense systems are intercepting hostile targets.


Following reports of Iraqi armor activity in the Green Zone in Baghdad, Iraq, reports also indicate that a number of politicians, including Sunni politician Muthanna al-Samarrai, have been arrested. Per reports from local media, the crackdown is supposedly subordinate to ongoing corruption investigations spearheaded by Iraq’s new prime minister, Ali Al-Zaidi. Al-Zaidi has close ties to Iran through his bank.

According to Reuters, citing a White House official, Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado has renewed her bid to return to Venezuela in recent days. The move, which had increasingly frustrated Trump administration officials, comes against the backdrop of twin earthquakes that devastated Northern Venezuela. Per the report, Machado has petitioned the administration, the State Department, and members of Congress to aid in her return, but at the time of writing, the administration is reticent to accede to the request, as one White House official told Reuters “We support her returning to Venezuela, but does it have to be 24 hours after a massive humanitarian catastrophe where the death toll continues to climb?”
Machado currently resides in the U.S., after leaving a Venezuela do to the threat from the former Maduro regime.
