According to a 927-page financial disclosure released earlier this week, U.S. President Donald J. Trump reported a personal income of over $2.2 billion in 2025, most from cryptocurrency ventures such as Trump, a meme coin created by the Trump Family only days before last year’s Presidential Inauguration which soared over 300% on release night before falling to less than $2 per coin in 2026. In addition to over $1.4 billion in crypto profits in 2025, investment accounts linked to President Trump carried out multiple high-profile trades last year, including more than 300 previously undisclosed stock purchases on April 8, 2025, one day ahead of his surprise announcement that he would pause a number of his “Liberation Day” tariffs levied against countries across the World. image

Russia launched a massive attack on Kyiv overnight, using virtually every weapon in its arsenal: Shahed and Geran drones, Zircon and Iskander missiles, everything except its much-hyped Oreshnik missile. At least 20 residential buildings were directly hit, while nearly 100 more across the capital sustained damage. Emergency crews from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine are still working at 15 locations, clearing the rubble. As of now, 13 people have been confirmed dead and nearly 100 others injured, including children.

According to The Wall Street Journal, President Trump has recently weighed resuming large-scale military operations against Iran but has, for now, opted to continue pursuing diplomatic negotiations. The report says the administration believes another major air campaign could jeopardize efforts to negotiate limits on Iran's nuclear program and further destabilize the region. At the same time, targeted retaliatory strikes remain an option if Iran violates existing understandings. Taken together, the strategy suggests the White House is seeking to preserve military leverage while giving diplomacy more time to achieve a longer-term agreement. image

According to The Wall Street Journal, one of the most consequential behind-the-scenes developments during the U.S.-Iran conflict was a major dispute between Washington and Riyadh. The report confirms earlier accounts that Saudi Arabia initially refused to allow the U.S. military to use its bases and airspace for Project Freedom, the operation aimed at protecting commercial shipping and reopening the Strait of Hormuz. The refusal reportedly forced the United States to halt the mission shortly after it began. The Journal also reports that the Trump administration warned Saudi Arabia it could delay deliveries of critical air defense interceptors unless the kingdom reversed its position. Saudi Arabia ultimately agreed, but the episode reportedly revealed one of the most serious strains in the U.S.-Saudi security relationship in years. image
