ここ数年、実の両親を立て続けに見送っているせいか、高齢者の訃報は”お疲れ様でした！”くらいしか思わない。呆けた顔で「ええええ！？驚いた！」とはならない。役目がを終えれば死ぬのみ。逆に俺より若い人の訃報は悲しいけれど。
Perhaps because I've had to bid farewell to both of my parents in recent years, I don't feel much more than "Thank you for all your hard work!" when I hear about the passing of elderly people. I don't get shocked with a bewildered face, like "What?! No way!" When their role is done, all it left is death. On the other hand, I do feel sad when I hear about the passing of someone younger than me.
