I received a call today from a former colleague, now retired. He mentioned that he had discussed bitcoin with another friend (whom I recently helped buy bitcoin from Bare Bitcoin). He was advised to speak to Bobby before making a purchase. He has an old Coinbase account with some sats and a Visa card. Should he use them and his credit card to buy more? I recommended the service I use, @torkel and Bare Bitcoin, which is a Norwegian OTC that specialises in bitcoin and has an integrated Lightning wallet. I said he could also check K33, another Norwegian OTC. He said he was considering buying between 200,000-300,000 NOK (£20,000-30,000). Not bad for a pensioner pleb💪 I said self custody was best. I advised him to contact me if the amount became significant enough to worry about the exchange being hacked. I mentioned @Coinkite (old npup) 20% discount on MK4 or Q1, but he said he wasn’t ready for self coustody yet. This is the third person in a few weeks to ask for advice on how to buy bitcoin safely. Is a bull run incoming?

Good night. Deleted Twitter from my phone today. Spent too much time on that app. It was a pointless addiction. I still have the account, but I only use the computer once a week, so this should free up more time. I will miss shitposting to nocoiners and the football news, but overall I think my quality of life will improve. Thanks to @ODELL and @cliffbjanger for the inspiration. Stay humble, read a book, and stack sats!

Great day at White Hart Lane, Tottenham Hotspur Women through to the FA Cup Final! 💪 It topped up a super weekend in England’s #Bitcoin capital, Bedford. Mayor @petermccormack with @dannyknowles and helpers put up a fantastic conference. Of course, most of the talks are subjects you have heard before, if you follow a couple of Bitcoin podcasts. But well delivered on stage from all. Had FOMO, and didn’t want to miss something, so it was a long day sitting on my ass. “Resistance Money” with Andrew Bailey, Bradley Retter, and Craig Wamke, hosted by @allen, was a really good discussion. And some new perspectives I hadn’t heard before. I’m definitely going to buy the book when it is released. Good to attend a Real Bedford match again, and they’ll get their win on Tuesday to secure the promotion. But the best is, of course, meeting old and new acquaintances. Had a lot of good Bitcoin talks. Thanks to you all. On the train Sunday morning down to London and the Tottenham match, I overheard 3 West Ham fans from Bedford on their way to a match: “Did you hear about Real Bedford and that they got 4 million from some CrYpTo Company? It’s wild what that Peter guy has done with the football team and CrYpTo”. I talked to them (didn’t bother correcting to Bitcoin, not the right time and place 😅). They thought it was crazy I was there from Norway, but at least one of them said he would have to go and check out a Real Bedford match. Gradually, then suddenly 💪 Thank you all for a great weekend.
