Yesterday my blind pet rabbit had to get her eyes removed due to ulcers + glaucoma. It’s been really painful to see as she has been such a big part of my videos for the last 7 years. But I am realizing the way we perceive this pain is very different. Mine is rooted in nostalgia; letting go of the past and the image I have of her. She is probably relieved to have two useless, painful eyes removed. That's one thing about mammals and most animals. They live in the present and adapt without all the foibles of human nature.
