I can’t remember the last time I opened Twitter and was NOT greeted by some kind of violent or shocking video. Switching to “following” doesn’t work. It just defaults back. Blocking and muting those amounts didn’t work, others just spring up out of nowhere and are straight back on my feed. The algos are so heavily rigged to lower your consciousness that it’s not even addictive any more. If you’re gonna rig the algos and push an agenda or psyop, at least try to make it mildly appealing!

Trump's promise to commute Ross Ulbricht's sentence is completely empty for me. He had a four-year tenure as president. This was ample opportunity to intervene in Ulbricht's case (not to mention Snowden and Assange who were also failed to help) - yet he did nothing. Why would we trust the empty words of a politician who has already failed to live by them? In the realm of politics especially, promises are cheap, abundant, and expedient. They are tools to garner favour and nothing more. Promises made in the absence of action are ephemeral. They fade quickly. Their value is zero. Trump already had the ability to commute sentences during his presidency. He chose to do nothing. Now, out of office, his promises carry even less weight. “Don’t trust, verify”. This applies to politics as much as anything else. We should always judge individuals not by their words, but by their actions. It is through actions that character is revealed and intentions are laid bare. Ross Ulbricht is still in jail. He could have been enjoying 8 years of freedom if Trump had had been a man of action. Instead he’s still in jail in one of the greatest ongoing injustices in American history. Let’s not forget that.

I’m gonna spend more time on here. It’s time. I had over 11K followers on Twitter. Now I have under 10K. I haven’t had any engagement on my posts for over 2 years. I get suggested dumb stuff all the time that doesn’t interest me (at least it’s not addictive any more, seeing the latest stupid post from whatever is the latest useful idiot the algos decide to promote). I can’t even DM people any more to invite on my podcast without Twitter forcing me to pay for premium. Not to mention that train wreck of a rebrand. “And we’re going to call it… X” I mean HOLY SHIT… what ideas did they turn down?! 😂 Let alone the fact that they just evaporated one of the most important words in internet lexicon in the process. Anyway I really hate that platform and the only thing keeping me there is the community. But I realise now that rather than waiting for the community to move over here, I shouldn’t wait. Twitter is an empire that’s already collapsing. No point staying hoping in vain that it will reverse course. Better to start building elsewhere. You’ll see more of me around here. I look forward to connecting with the #nostr community.
