Before you string me up for posting a Twitter link here, please hear me out. This clip is from June 2023 and takes you back 2 years in time to help you understand how long the JPEG spam attack has been carried out on Bitcoin. These are not good actors and it's time to expose and stop this nonsense. Bitcoin is money, not a fucking arbitrary data storage network.

You might not be actively doing this, but what are you doing to stop it? image

Which one of you did this? Abstract: A purely peer-to-peer version of decentralized file storage would allow image files—specifically pictures of cats and monkeys—to be uploaded, shared, and verified directly between users without relying on centralized servers. While digital signatures ensure authenticity and ownership of JPEGs, the system’s full potential is only realized when it eliminates the need for a trusted third party to manage storage or prevent duplication. We propose a solution to the duplicate-upload problem using a peer-to-peer network that timestamps and stores image file metadata by hashing them into an immutable, chained log using proof-of-storage. This chain forms a verifiable and tamper-resistant ledger of cat and monkey JPEGs. The longest, most replicated chain serves as proof of both popularity and commitment of storage resources. As long as honest nodes contribute more disk space and bandwidth than malicious ones, the network can maintain consensus on the most complete and authentic collection of feline and primate imagery. The protocol requires minimal central coordination; nodes may join or leave at will, and automatically sync to the most validated collection upon rejoining—ensuring no cat or monkey is left behind.

Will you be running a pineapple filter on pizza day? Yes - Knots No - I don't want pineapple, but if I get it, that's ok, because, um, not sure, but filters don't work anyway and we should lift all restrictions on pizza toppings anyway, even if it means I get pineapple, anchovies, olives, meat, vegetables, cheese, fish, crickets and ice cream. - Core.

Imagine your business model was "Selling Promises" and customers paid monthly and yearly subscriptions to you, whilst never delivering. That's your government. That's your tax.

Imagine if you could borrow huge amounts of money and then have someone else pay off all your debts including the incurred interest. That's your government and that's your tax. But, the people who loaned them the money can print it whenever they want, so they don't actually want that form of payment back. They want mineral rich land instead. And will get it, by any means necessary
