pay all the taxes you owe. but the idea is to owe as little as possible. if you owe taxes and choose not to pay them you're not gonna have a fun time.

listening to an audiobook with your ears and reading a book with your eyes are two different things, physically and cognitively. also enabled by different media formats, one which demands focus and the other which allows for multitasking (e.g. doing dishes, driving, running, etc.) if you say you read a book i assume it to mean you used your eyes. if you did not, say you listened to a book. they're completely different activities, and saying you "read" an audio recording is confusing.

the paradox in this global push for a universal scarcity mindset to mitigate perceived problems—do less, use less, stop, reduce, eliminate—is that the result will be a society that no longer has the free time, energy, resources, or means to pursue and create the actual solutions.

the world is not getting worse but there are many wealthy people in positions of power who want you to think it is the only thing getting worse is people's opinion of how things are trending and what the future will be like it's an imagination virus

pv fam 🤙🌄 you're in an adversarial relationahip with every source of information you come across. untrustworthy until proven trustworthy. skepticism is a virtue, and doubt is a healthy default. now enjoy the week and have fun out there!

one of the most positive influences on me in recent months has been when @Vitor Pamplona responded to criticism of his hilariously under-designed Amethyst logo by updating it to an even more janky, under-designed logo 😅 having worked at digital design agencies for most of my career i've always found it challenging to break out of the "logo-fiddling" stage of projects and just get to making something that works and delivers results the emphasis on shipping is an underappreciated virtue of the developer community, and as a non-dev i'm trying to become better about it i know too many people who "start companies" but get their logo, llc, website, bank account, and business cards set up before finding a single user or paying customer marketing is valuable and has its place, but also maybe just build the product and keep improving it first forget about the logo ffs image
