The times have changed and so have the people. Very sad. I don't see Bitcoin winning I see people coping saying "we are winning" while suits get on stage and preach to the world how Bitcoin is all about dollars and it's not safe to hold your own keys. I say this not out of hate, I say this hoping to get people to go back towards the cypherpunk roots. I don't see anything going on in Bitcoin that is good. I don't like being a downer or negative but this is my honest view. It's all about dollars now it seems for the vast majority of people.

Can we make cypherpunk more than just a larp for your nym because the aesthetics are cool? What if we actually just did stuff and stopped asking permission, what if we actually used Bitcoin to buy things without middle men and financial institutional approval? What if we actually pushed for Bitcoin to be what is described in the whitepaper?

If Bitcoin isn't money then it's worthless. I don't care what anyone says, if the main use case is going to be buy paper shares (via a bank/institution) of BTC then sell those paper shares for more dollars then Bitcoin didn't win it lost horribly. Peer to Peer means we don't need institutions, yet Bitcoiners are so focused on getting institutions in the middle. What is even going on in BTC anymore. Where did the cypherpunk ethos go?
