I might see how low this can go, I use my laptop on a dock with an external keyboard, mouse and monitor like 95% of the time anyway so it really doesn't bother me that much.

Almost borked my system trying to be clever instead of just leaving things alone when I get them working like I normally do. Moral of the story... Autism
I won't say Nix is bad, what I will say is it's very convoluted and verbose and just a pain to even start trying to learn. It seems great, I do not want to spend the time learning it.
