Maybe I should prepare a newspaper issue for when Iran drops the dollar?
My gut tells me the rumors are true.
Reason tells me the rumors are either false or a huge deal, because if it was no big deal, mainstream media would be running their canned responses already. It seems like the American military industrial complex was so caught off guard by this, big players are keeping talking heads quiet while they scramble to make moves that rely on being early with the information.

Been having each issue's PDF printout refer back to the same issue on nostr, but since a nostr URL isn't assigned until the post is made & can't properly support editing at that URL, this requires me to wait until after posting the full issue before adding a link to the PDF to my nostr profile. I'm also doing 2 versions of each PDF, the first with a link to the nostr copy, and the second with links to both the nostr copy and the first PDF. I think I should be more efficient in future issues by having the first gen PDF not link to the nostr copy, so that the nostr copy can link to it. Then the list of PDF links updated with each issue can still contain the 2nd gen printout. I'll probably also start doing the link lists as replies to each issue instead of standalone posts

Google fires 28 employees for protesting Googleβs Israeli cloud deal βProject Nimbusβ
According to Wikipedia:
In March, a Google Cloud software engineer was fired after a video of them shouting "I refuse to build technology that empowers genocideβ went viral, in reference to Nimbus.
Shortly thereafter, dozens of employees participated in sit-ins at Google's New York & Sunnyvale Headquarters. Sunnyvale Police were called to remove employees from a day-long occupation of Google Cloud chief executive Thomas Kurian's office. Nine employees were charged with criminal misdemeanor and 28 were terminated.
Google claims Israel are prohibited by terms of service from using its services to engage in violence, and the contract is for workloads related to "finance, healthcare, transportation, and education."
Google Cloud Platform's AI tools could give the Israeli military and security services the capability for facial detection, automated image categorization, object tracking & sentiment analysis β tools that have previously been used by U.S. Customs and Border Protection for border surveillance. The terms Israel set for the project contractually forbid Amazon and Google from halting services due to boycott pressure. The tech companies are also forbidden from denying service to any particular government entities.

After today's issue, I think I'll switch to posting individual articles from a separate key and keeping this one focused on full issues. It should help make things less spammy if people actually start following me on nostr.
I hope Iβm not wasting paper too severely. Since this Calvin & Hobbes strip about 35 years ago, the extinction rate has skyrocketed. In the next 15 minutes, another creature will find itself the last of its kind. Look up βthe anthropocene.β A recent study found humans have wiped out 60-70% of the wildlife the planet was home to 50 years ago. Now, world leaders seem to be fighting atmospheric pollution with atmospheric pollution. We really need investment in aerospace & robotics to make a sunshield, or we risk dooming every species.
PDF printouts of this newspaper should always fit on one double-sided page, in black & white so supporters can even use recycled kraft paper for printing.

This comic strip and attached blurb is another recurring element in the paper so farI think newspapers should have recurring elements other than crossword puzzles and stuff. I don't see why the criminalization of whistleblowers as high-profile as Edward Snowden or Julian Assange should stop being headline news without being resolved.
