What are the "benefits" of FIAT money? ▶️ Makes the controlling of financial markets possible. ▶️ Makes it possible to fund government without increasing taxes. ▶️ Makes it possible to incentivize spending. ▶️ Makes it possible to lock/freeze peoples money. Each topic has its own rabbit hole. All the things relate... In my opinion one of the most disturbing part is, that banks can lock your money, so you are not able to spend it. I would ask here, what is property then? To sit under the shade of a tree, you had to plant that tree 30 or more years ago. Our acts has a long horizon, and most of the time, we reap the rewards of the things our ancestors or we did way back. This means if we do the things wrong now, we will only see the negative impact of it in 10 or more year steps. But when we see, it is already too late. Like if you want to sit now under a tree, that you did not plant. You can do nothing about it. You can only plant now to get the benefits later... We have to learn to estimate the impacts of our choices, and supress our short term happiness for our long-term well-being. Believing in #bitcoin is not about bitcoin. It is abound believing in the right: ▶️ to spend your money whenever and on whatever you want, ▶️ to be able to buy the same amount of products from your saved money in 10-25 years as you can now, ▶️ to have freedom, ▶️ to spend money/exchange value borderlessly, ▶️ to have freedom of speech and freedom of getting heard. These expectations are the basis of a thriving economy/community. We have to be able to spend on whatever to be able to cast our votes on the products and services that are out there. This way shaping the world into the right direction. We have to be able to save, so that we can buy/build bigger things. So that we can prepare for the future. So that we can be free, stable and independent. We have to have freedom, because ideas are developed in a free environment. And we need ideas to progress and increase our and others living standards. We have to be able to exchange value borderlessly and cheap, so that great ideas could get funding no matter where they come from, so they can be developed and worked on. We have to have freedom of speech and freedom of getting heard, so that great ideas can be heard/spread no matter where it originates from.
