What’s one piece of advice you wish you had received from your dad growing up? If he wasn’t around, who did you turn to for guidance?

We get so hell bent on what’s next
-
What we need to be doing
-
What needs to get done
-
What needs to happen after that gets done.
-
We forget.
-
We don’t look around and enjoy.
-
This is once what we asked for.
-
What we would kill for.
-
Look around. Take it in.

** update. WE WON.
They’re trying to sell our land.
Lawmakers in the Senate have proposed selling off 3.3 million acres of your public lands — the same lands we hunt, fish, hike, camp, and raise our kids to respect.
These aren’t forgotten corners of the country, the proposed sale includes:
• Over 100,000 miles of trails
• 8,232 climbing areas
• 3,405 river miles
These are the places we go to regularly. To think clearly. To connect. They belong to all of us. And not just now, but for our kids, and their kids.
At Off The Grid, these lands are more than terrain, they’re therapy, brotherhood, memory, and legacy.
We use them to heal, to grow, and to pass something down that lasts longer than we do.
Action:
-Call/Email your senators and local reps and tell them this land matters.
-Share this post and spread the word
-Keep showing up! Actively use the land. Teach your kids what it means.
Final Senate floor vote expected before July 4th.
Here’s a poem I wrote… when I wrote it I was laying on the hospital floor writing my emotions down on a piece of paper. My son is all healthy now, but I wanted to share for the dads out there who might feel the same way and can’t find the words. I was off the grid on a trip for Father’s Day, but here’s our Father’s Day post. Happy Father’s Day gentleman. Keep showing up.
He calls me dada——
Still wondering if I’m doing it right.
Putting on grown up,
saying that I have grown up,
trying to prove,
to myself mostly,
that I’m enough.
Enough when the bank account says I’m not.
Enough when I’m running on empty.
Enough even when I know I could be better.
But he looks at me like I already am.
Calls me Dada like it’s sacred.
Like it’s settled.
Like he knows something I don’t.
And maybe he does.
Because being his Dada
is the most real thing I’ve ever done.
More real than any title,
more solid than any plan I’ve made.
I’ll never be perfect,
but I’ll be willing.
Willing to grow,
to fight for presence over performance,
to choose faith when fear shows up.
I’ll live the kind of life
that makes Jesus known
through how I love him.
So the world might know God
by knowing the man my son becomes.
And when he’s older,
I hope he sees the weight I carried
not as a burden,
but as a blessing.
I hope my sister sees too,
and smiles.
Because the boy she left behind,
is trying his best,
to be the Dada she’d be proud of.
He calls me Dada,
and that’s enough for today.
Enough to keep going.
Enough to give everything I’ve got.
Enough to believe that grace really does cover it all.

B O Y S /// trip.
My friends and I found out about @offthegridtherapy on an Instagram Reel. We booked this trip to the @visitmammoth region near Crowley Lake without having any idea what to expect. My best friends @anthonyrojo + Jason Bogle and I drove to the Eastern Sierras where we met up with the owner @brockeissman a sports psychologist and founder of Off The Grid. We also met up with other guys who had driven or flown across the country from places like Houston, Oklahoma, Utah and California.
We learned how to tie a fly and fly fish.
We fired shotguns at clay targets.
We took cold plunges in 45 degree rivers.
We hiked up two miles to 11,000’ to take a dip in a glacier fed lake.
We shot bows and arrows.
We played cornhole with hatchets.
We ate lots of bacon.
Each night Brock gave us a topic and we spent hours around the fire exploring those ideas and thoughts from people from so many backgrounds.
This is not an ad. If you or someone you know could use this I couldn’t recommend it more.
*also the music is amazing and by @wearedwllrs Brock’s younger brothers band. Worth a listen.

Let’s talk about that rafting trip
-
First off, every guy on that trip was an absolute pleasure to meet and now know like a brother.
-
The guides were killers, from early AM breakfast to wisdom around the fires.
-
The food hit the soul
-
The laughs were long and contagious.
-
The views were out of a movie it felt like.
-
This seriously was a trip of a lifetime.
-
Who wants to see a video on YouTube of the trip?

I want to honor this man @charliekirk1776 . Who promoted open dialogue with people who disagreed with him. He didn’t deserve to die. And as a father, I’m deeply saddened for his children and his wife Erika.
Have faith in God. Love and hold your family close. Fight for what you believe in.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
Here’s to finishing the race brother.

This page is not a political or religious page. But I think every single person out there should agree…this should never have happened.

We are
OFF THE GRYD THERAPY.
There’s this poem I wrote
“The space between”
Lately I’ve been feeling that strange pull.
The space between who I was,
and who I’m trying to become.
It’s messy.
It’s uncomfortable,
and honestly,
I hate it.
Maybe hate isn’t the right word.
If only I could name it.
This feeling that i have.
The unknown.
Like climbing a mountain at dusk.
It’s not dark enough to stop,
but not light enough to see clearly.
Just,
in between.
The craziest part,
life isn’t going to just pause,
for something inside me to just catch up.
I still have to show up.
Be present.
Provide.
Lead.
Suit up like I’m all good.
When I know that I’m not.
But maybe this is the work.
The work in the middle.
That space between.
And this tension in my chest,
and restlessness in my mind.
Is it pulling me for something ahead.
Preparing me for something,
that I cannot clearly see?
So maybe that’s okay.
Maybe this in between is necessary.
Right here,
right now.
Maybe it’s the shaping,
and I’m learning to trust,
the space between.

Keep showing up, make it a great week.

September is recognized as Suicide Prevention Month.
While this is something we take seriously each and every day.
This post is for you, do with it what you will, and if you’re struggling. Damnt ask for help, being a man is knowing when to ask for help. You are not alone in this.
I’ve chosen the words on this post from a conversation with one of our leaders and good friend @logansober6 “suicide doesn’t take the pain away. It passes it to those we love”.
I’ve been in many circles and heard many things said regarding this topic, but that one hits me and I’ve seen it hit others hard in freakin gut man.. because it’s 100% true. Pain is passed down with how we handle and what we do with our pain is what matters.
So please I’m asking you. ask for help. Find the right person and open up. Give yourself an opportunity to heal. 🙏

Movember, raise awareness.
Check in on your brothers.
Have you checked out the recent YouTube video?
-
100+ miles on the Colorado with a great group of dudes!
-
@offgryd on YouTube!
We are running trips in other states!
More trips. More states. More men in the community.
So we built 5 trailers by hand.
Because building a business sometimes means welding at midnight and chasing a vision no one else can see.. yet 🤠
I look forward to meeting you, off the grid 🤘🏼
Thank you @liberty_off_roadusa for the take off coils and shocks! Check em out they are a rad small business!
Solitude doesn’t necessarily mean being alone, and loneliness doesn’t necessarily mean being surrounded by people. You can be in a room full of people and still feel deeply alone if the connection isn’t real. And yet you can be by yourself and feel fully at peace.
We crave both solitude and real connection. We need authentic relationships, real brotherhood. Perhaps this is why we feel the half presence with someone and its more isolating than being in true solitude. This is a paradox.
Perhaps that’s why loneliness is felt most sharply not in solitude, but in the company of those who are only half there.
——
I will demand depth in my relationships. I will not settle for half hearted presence. From others, and from myself.
The year isn’t over yet.
Write down all the things you said that you’d do this year,
that you still haven’t done:
now with that list organize them from easiest/least time consuming. Do those things first.
I want you to focus on the things you can control and can realistically be done in 45 days.
Get to it 🤝
What real brotherhood looks like.
Brotherhood is this…
looking at a man not for who he is today,
but for the strength you know he carries.
Believe in him before he proves it,
and you’ll watch him rise
further than he thought possible.

Enjoy your Labor Day 🤝
