It’s shocking how much the US has come to resemble book 3 of Atlas Shrugged. Eg. using political pull to reward allies and punish rivals. Actions that make no sense except as spectacle for the voters.
The #google monopoly has been the Internet’s greatest threat to #privacy and #security for two decades. I am sad it took a couple ill-advised map updates to make the at least one segment of the population to realize the threat. But at least they finally came around.
So TikTok will be banned in China by the CCP to prevent spying by the US government, and the value of the network will decline even faster than Xitter?
I cannot name a single ancestor, person, or cultural work that lived or was created in the year 1025.
I dare say in the year none will exist: the English language, the USA or any current nation state, the Internet, or knowledge of today’s most famous people outside a small group of historians.

Reporting on the next fire, earthquake, tsunami, or flood will be drowned by “fake news” denials before people can have time to get out of harm’s way.
I don’t know what is the path off this slippery slope.
The time it takes reporting on local disasters to transition from news to political propaganda is now minutes, instead of hours or days.
Soon (if not already) that transition will be made in seconds.
A friendly reminder to ignore what #trump says (about #canada, #panama, #greenland, etc.) and watch only what he does. All the chatter is nonsense intended to distract.
