Spent the evening at the dock last night with a friend and his wife. Always love winter sunsets - there’s something about the colors this time of year that just hit differently compared to other seasons. Picked up one of my favorite drinks at Kroger today. Thought it was on sale - shelf said $3.99. Regular price, but I figured I’d grab one anyway. Was in the mood. Got to self checkout… rang up $4.99. So I flagged down one of the employees and told her it was marked $3.99. She wasn’t convinced and asked if I had a picture. I told her, “Give me a minute, I’ll show you.” So we walked all the way back across the store together. When we got there, she tried peeling the price sticker off the shelf tag to see if another price was hiding underneath. She was struggling with it for a bit and eventually just kind of gave up. I laughed and said, “Do you really think Kroger is gonna go under if they don’t make their extra fifty cents on this sale?” She started laughing. We walked back to the register and she jokingly complained, “You didn’t tell me it was this far.” I tossed back some smart-aleck comment and she laughed again. She went to correct the price… but typed it in wrong. She entered $2.99. I didn’t say anything. Sometimes you just gotta be thankful for stupid.

What is another good backend data storage application? I know of Supabase and Firebase, but I wonder what else is out there that is a bit more lightweight. Needing something to store images, but also text input for photographer statements, first name / last name, and some other things. #asknostr
