The only news I don't get on nostr is the local drivel and shenanigans my local politicians are up to. It turns out I don't need it, because I know enough people in my town that, eventually I will hear about it. Guess what I learned from this experience? These things I had no influence over, I never concerned myself with them, therefore the energy I did have over that time was spent on what really matters to me and mine. That includes my nostr fam. If there is anything really important someone will either tell me in conversation, send me an email or text, or call me if it's urgent. Don't worry, no nuclear bombs will go off, and nobody is coming to take your stuff (except the government.)
